Staying Informed

June 2017

by Susan Church

Have you seen the new website for the library? If we do say so ourselves; it's beautiful! The new address is crete.library.

You will find all kinds of useful information here. Keep up-to-date with events at the library through the calendar. Find out what other libraries across the state are reading in their book clubs. Gain access to the card catalog, a listing of businesses in the area that are hiring with hyperlinks to sites to fill out online job applications, and find out more about Mango and Freegal.

The site sports bold new colors, is easy to use, and has all the information you need to keep informed about the library.

Three other sites to visit that will keep you current on library happenings and other information are cretepublic, crete.ne.library, and CretePLibrary.

If computers aren't your cup `o tea, there are two other ways to stay informed. Give us a call (402-826-3809)! We are always happy to answer questions you may have. Or you can come visit us. We normally have posters on the doors with information to keep you filled on current events.

So there you have it. Ways to stay in the know. Check out one or all of them!

We would like to have your feedback regarding the hours of Crete Public Library. The survey is available online at r/CPL_Hour_Survey or at the library. If you have further comments or suggests, email them to

library.feedback@crete.. Thank you!

Book Review: Let's Get Lost

by Claire Eltze

This article features a book review of Let's Get Lost by Adi Alsaid, written by guest reviewer Claire Eltze. This title is in the Young Adult collection.

What do four random American teens have in common? Leila. When a seventeen-year-old girl from the south with dreams that will take her far, goes on a crosscountry trip, adventures are to be expected; however, none would compare to what Leila stumbles across. This heart-wrenching novel pulls you from anger to laughter with a turn of the page. After Hudson brings Leila a fixed car, treasure and love, an unexpected turn of events leads Leila to return to the road. She picks up a runaway hitchhiker who lives everyday for what it is. Bree shows Leila how to have fun but soon learns that fun doesn't always get you far in life. Then Leila runs into Elliot who just came from the worst night ever. Can Leila make prom night for Elliot something he will want to remember? Back on the road, having crossed the Canadian border, Leila has to backtrack to return Sonia, a runaway bridesmaid, home. But the two soon remember the rings and must sneak across the border. Once she gets Sonia settled, Leila hits the road again with one intention; the Northern Lights. During her 4,286 mile journey, Leila crashed into many people's lives and learned a little about herself along the

way.

If you like this type of book, other similar titles in the Young Adult collection include: Paper Towns by John Green; 13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson; Mosquitoland by David Arnold; and Confessions of Georgia Nicolson series by Louise Rennison.
