R. Bruce Carlton joined the OBU faculty in the Hobbs College of Theology and Ministry in August 2011. Carlton comes to OBU with over 20 years of field experience with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention (1986-2007). Carlton and his wife Gloria lived and served in Hong Kong, Cambodia, India and the sub-continent during their missionary career. Yes, you can. You're only charged the difference between what you already paid to rent the book, and the value of the book at the time you initially rented. This is what makes renting textbooks so cool; it saves you money, while still allowing you to purchase the book if you'd like to. If you decide to keep a book, simply log in to your customer account, choose to purchase your book, and it will walk you through the checkout process.

We will do our best to make returning your book(s) simple and easy. As stated above, we even provide the return package with a prepaid label already attached. If however, books are not returned at the end of the rental period (and after the grace period), as specified in the rental agreement, the renter will be notified via email that their card will be charged for a 15 day extension of their book(s). If the book is not returned by the end of the 15 days the next charge will be for the purchase price of the book, which is: Market Value of Book at time of Rental - (Rental Fee + Extension) = Purchase Price of Book. In 1976, the Southern Baptist Convention adopted its Bold New Thrusts in Foreign Missions with the

overarching goal of sharing the gospel with every person in the world by the year 2000. The formation of Cooperative Services International (CSI) in 1985 and the assigning of the first non-residential missionary (NRM) in 1987 demonstrated the Foreign Mission Board’s (now International Mission Board) commitment to take the gospel message to countries that restricted traditional missionary presence and to people groups identified as having little or no access to the gospel. Carlton traces the historical development along with an analysis of the key components of the paradigm and its significant impact on Southern Baptists’ missiology.

R. Bruce Carlton served in Asia from 1986 to 2007 as a church planter, Strategy Coordinator and trainer in areas and among peoples with little or no access to the gospel. He is the author of Acts 29: Practical Training for Facilitating Church-Planting Movements Among the Neglected Harvest Fields, a manual for training Strategy Coordinators that has been translated into seventeen different languages. Presently, Carlton serves as the Associate Professor of Missions at Boyce College, a school of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, USA.
