The therapy of lymphadenitis depends on the causative organism and the clinical course. In simple non-specific bacterial lymphadenitis with a mild clinical course, adequate antibiotic therapy can be sufficient, whereas a complicated or chronic course or acute abscess formation requires surgical intervention and a search for the specific causative agent. ................
