Final Transcripts for Seniors

*By May 5th all seniors must turn in a “SENIOR EXIT SURVEY” to Mrs. Wesley in the Counseling Office. This states post-THS plans and final transcript needs. You will be given the “SENIOR EXIT SURVEY” in middle of April through Schoology. Please print out and hand in to Mrs. Wesley. If you need a copy they will be available in the Counseling Office. This form is a requirement to graduate!!!!!

Annemarie Martz Memorial Scholarship- Offering one $1,000 scholarship for attendance at Oakland University to deserving THS graduate with exemplary record of service to others.

Alpha Delta Kappa- The Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international honorary sorority for women educators, are offering scholarship award to a qualified student at your high school. The amount of the scholarship is $500 and will be awarded to a graduate of the Troy School District. Our scholarship is named after one of our members, a former longtime employee of the Troy School District. Wass Elementary is also named in her honor. Metro Detroit Youth Day Scholarship-Seniors with financial need, average or better GPA- youth-

Martell Alumni Scholarship- A student who attended Martell Elementary, graduating senior at Troy HS, have maintained a 2.0 grade point, attending a post high school. Applications available in the Guidance Office.

Nursing Schools Almanac- Nursing Schools Almanac has just launched its third annual Aspiring Nurse Scholarship. Our website will award a $1,000 scholarship to an aspiring nurse. This scholarship is open to all high school seniors who plan to purse college education in nursing, including LPN/LVN, AND, and BSN program. Rutgers Pre-Engineering Summer Academy- Rutgers University- New Brunswick is excited to announce an opportunity for students interested in engineering. The Rutgers School of Engineering is offered the chance for students to participate in a new Pre- Engineering Summer Academy to develop to their knowledge and skills through real-world field experience. The intensive one-week certificate program will introduce students to a variety of engineering areas including: Aerospace, Biomedical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Forensic, and Mechanical. Sara Violet Foundation Scholarship for Science or Engineering- This scholarship honors the life of Sara Violet Guenther, who was a member of the Troy High Class of 2011. Student-View Scholarship Program- The 2017 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering $11,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career school. The program includes: One $4,000 scholarship, two $1,000 scholarships, ten $500 scholarships. It is quick and easy to apply: No minimum AT/ACT score or grade point average, No essay required, No lengthy application forms, No application fees. Simply log on to student- and complete a 15-20-minute application survey about colleges in your area. The scholarship will be awarded via a random drawing of all completed applications. The scholarship winner will be announced in May 2017.

Troy Women’s Association- The Troy Women’s Association, a local non-profit organization, will be awarding $8,000 in educational scholarships this spring! Scholarships will be awarded to local women who demonstrate a commitment to serving their community and/or demonstrate financial need. TWA will award two categories of educational scholarships, one to a women graduating high school and one to woman returning or continuing their college education.

United Community Family Services- The Nadia Atisha and Samir A. Paulus Needs Based Scholarship is designed to award a scholarship of $1,5000 to three Chaldean students and a scholarship of $500 to three Chaldean students from the Michigan area who demonstrates financial difficulty in reaching their goal of attending college. This scholarship will be awarded to students that have shown academic success in the classroom and involvement in the community and are in need of financial assistance to pursue further education. Common Ground- Common Ground is a nonprofit agency dedicated to helping youths, adults and families in crisis

Eleanor Roosevelt Center- Announcing application deadline extension for girls leadership worldwide and boys leadership worldwide to 4/14/17. Students entering 10th or 11th grade in September 2017. Metro Detroit Youth Day College Scholarships and Community Service and Leadership Awards- They would like to honor grades 9-11 for their Community Service and Leadership Award. This is to identify students who possess qualities of leadership and who have been active in student government, school activities and in their community. Students can nominate themselves. The deadline is May 19, 2017. Students receive a Certificate of Recognition for their community service and leadership in their school, church or community. There is no money attached to the Community Service Award, but students may be eligible for the Metro Detroit Youth Day scholarship as a graduating senior, they should apply. Michigan American Legion Auxiliary Girls State- Michigan State University June 18th-24th 2017- Michigan American Legion Auxiliary (ALA), based out of Lansing. They are the organizers of ALA Girls State, a week-long women-in-government program at Michigan State University, held the week of June 18th, 2017. Telluride Association – 2017 Telluride Association is for sophomore student. A free six-week program, co-sponsored by Conell University and the University of Michigan. Students live for six weeks at one of the two program campuses. Grant from the Troy Community Foundation are available in 4 key areas: Youth & Seniors, Arts & Culture, Beautification, and Health & Recreation. The grant application packet is available at

University of Alabama- For National Merit and National Achievement Finalist scholarship students are offered the following:

Value of tuition for up to five years or 10 semesters for degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate (or law) studies. One year of on-campus housing. A $3,500 per year Merit Scholarship stipend for four years. A student must maintain at least a 3.3 GPA to continue receiving this scholarship stipend. Women of Distinction at Smith College- The deadline to apply for the annual Women of Distinction program at Smith College is Friday June 16th, 2017. The application will be available on Monday May, 1 2017. The program will take place on October 20-22, 2017. Women of Distinction is a program for high school seniors that highlights the opportunities at Smith for African American, Latina, Asian American, and Native American students. Admission is competitive. Smith will provide round-trip transportation, meals and accommodations for all participants.

Beaumont Health in Royal Oak- Perry Outreach Program is on Thursday July 20th at Beaumont Health in Royal Oak MI. The Perry Outreach Program is a free, one-day, hands-on experience for high school and college-aged women who are interested in pursuing careers in medicine and engineering. Students will hear from women leaders in these fields and try it for themselves by performing mock orthopedic surgeries and biomechanics experiments. They are now seeking applications for their Royal Oak, MI program. Participants should be women in grade 10 and up with an expressed interest in science, medicine and/or engineering. Michigan State University Summer Program- At MSU Media Summer Camps, students will have the opportunity to study video game design and development, 3D animation, digital cinema, and programming with Minecraft, all with MSU faculty and students, as well as industry professionals. Oakland University School of Medicine- Summer Program Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine has a program for high school students who are interested in a career in medicine and bioengineering. The program is a two-week intensive program for students who have expressed interest in medicine, bioengineering, and careers in health science. The purpose of the program is to give students a deeper understanding of the multiple systems and processes of the human body as well as how all people are connected through biodiversity and bioengineering. We also give them exposure to careers in the medical field through special guest lecturers and acquaint them with other students who have the same interest. The program is interactive in nature, allowing students to interact with the human body through technology, demonstrations, and hands-on experiences. Each student will get the opportunity to ask questions about form and function, common diseases and illnesses, and widely used diagnoses. Students interested in this program do not need to have already taken a class in human anatomy in order to participate, everyone is learning at the same level. The program has space for thirty students who will be into their sophomore, junior, and senior year of high school in the upcoming Fall semester. University of Dayton- Summer Sustainability: Food Systems – Rising high school juniors and seniors will study sustainable food system, availability, scarcity and justice issues with the collaboration of UD faculty, students and community partners. Participants can earn one credit hour, which may be transferred to any college or university.
