SECTION 26 05 33.01

STRUCTURED CABLE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (PREMISE)

Specifier Notes: Delete any information below in Parts 1, 2 or 3 which is not required or relevant for the project.

PART 1 – GENERAL

1.01 SUMMARY

A. This section includes non-metallic low voltage flexible conduit raceway system with boxes, brackets and fittings for residential telecommunications and fiber-optic cable management applications.

1.03 SUBMITTALS

A. Comply with Section 01 33 00 – Submittal Procedures.

B. Product Data:

1. Submit manufacturer’s descriptive literature and product specifications for each product.

2. Manufacturer’s product drawings.

C. Manufacturer’s installation instructions.

1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. Manufacturer Qualifications: Products shall be free of defects in material and workmanship.

B. Furnished products are listed and/or certified by third party agencies as suitable for the intended purpose.

05. WARRANTY

A. Product is warranted free of defects in material and workmanship.

B. Product is warranted to perform the intended function within design limits.

PART 2 – PRODUCTS

2.01 GENERAL

A. The following structured cable management system shall consist of the following products:

1. SCE, SCF, SCG, SCH and SCJ series flexible raceway

2. SCA and SCE series fittings

3. SC100, SC200 and SC300 series boxes and brackets

4. SCDIV divider plate

5. SCA410 mud ring

B. All Boxes, brackets (except 3-gang low voltage SC300A), fittings, raceway (flexible conduit) shall

carry a UL or cULus mark. The markings shall be legible and permanent.

03. DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

A All Boxes, brackets, fittings, raceway (flexible conduit) and clamps shall be non-metallic.

B Components used for low voltage shall be orange in color.

C. Dual voltage box/bracket shall be used for applications where combined power and low voltage are needed.

D. Low voltage brackets shall be available for single, two and three gang versions.

E. Dual voltage box/bracket and brackets shall

1. accept standard cover plates.

2. accommodate large/deep low voltage devices.

3. accommodate bend radius requirements for low voltage cable.

F. Mounting flange on low voltage brackets shall be for steel stud applications.

G. Low voltage brackets shall be gangable.

H. Low Voltage add-on bracket shall allow ganging of power and low voltage, and accepts a two-gang plate.

I. One and two gang low voltage adjustable brackets shall be available.

J. One and two gang old work brackets shall be available.

K. Mud ring shall be available.

L. Low voltage adjustable floor bracket with cover shall be available.

M. Recessed dual voltage 3-Gang old work plate shall be available.

N. Fittings shall be available in sizes 3/4” through 2”.

O. Quick connect fittings shall be in sizes ¾” and 1”.

P. Non-metallic flexible conduit raceway shall be available in sizes ¾” through 2”.

PART 3 – EXECUTION

3.01 INSTALLATION

A. Installation shall be in accordance with the NEC and CEC where applicable.

B. All fittings shall be installed in accordance with instructions from the manufacture.

C. Keep raceways at least 6 inches (150 mm) away from parallel runs of flues and steam or hot-water

pipes.

D. Do not use Resi-Gard in air handling plenums.

E. Maintain separation between power wiring and telecommunications/fiber optic cabling.

F. Use proper solvent cement and adhere to safety precautions.
