➢ JANUARY 1 POLAR BEAR PLUNGE - 28th annual plunge into Lake DeSmet, 1:00 pm at Lake DeSmet’s south boat ramp. A great way to start the New Year with a refreshing dip through the ice, really gets the blood pumping.  No cost, just a steely resolve and an adventurous spirit. ➢ MAY 9-10 SNICKERS BIG HORN SOCCER CUP - 11th anniversary - 22 fields of soccer competition in action with more than 120 youth soccer teams (ages 8-14) from Colorado, Montana, South Dakota, and Wyoming. Held at the Big Horn Equestrian Center (south of Sheridan). Youth play area and activities. Over a dozen concessionaries. Admission $5 per car. ➢ MAY 15-17 22nd ANNUAL ROCKY MOUNTAIN LEATHER TRADE SHOW - All your leather shop needs under one roof. Held at the Sheridan Holiday Inn. Over 60 leather-related suppliers, manufacturers and dealers. Great for hobbyists, artists and professionals. International event with how-to workshops starting May 11. ➢ MAY 24 EATONS’ HORSE DRIVE – Stake out a viewing spot and watch over 100  horses cowboy-driven through Sheridan, passing the Wyoming Information Center at approximately 9 AM, down 5th Street past Historic Sheridan Inn, where Buffalo Bill auditioned Wild West Show acts, out to Eatons’ Ranch, the oldest dude ranch in the nation! ➢ June 15 - July 1 wild flowers peak season – Meander through the majestic Bighorn Mountains on Scenic Byways 14 or 14A experiencing wildflowers and wildlife, such as moose, elk, deer, bear, lions & marmot.

➢ JULY 4 KARZ ROD RUN - 150 hot rods, muscle, classic cars and trucks on Historic Downtown Main Street (Dow to Alger), with vendors on Sheridan’s Grinnell Plaza, from 10 am to 3 pm. ➢ JULY 8-11 85th SHERIDAN WYO RODEO (during SHERIDAN WYO RODEO WEEK, July 4-12) - On the Million Dollar Tour of Professional Rodeos with the world's top cowgirls and cowboys! Join in the WYO Rodeo fun all week long! In addition to four nightly PRCA rodeos and morning slack (preliminary elimination) performances, this week includes the World Champion Indian Relay Races, parade, street dances, boot kick-off and BBQ, carnival, Kiwanis pancake breakfast, Beds Along the Big Horns Race, Sneakers & Spurs Rodeo Run, and more. ➢ AUGUST 29-30 SHERIDAN ELKS YOUTH RODEO - Toughest youth (17 and under) competition with the best awards (up to $67,000 cash/awards), in 26 events having attracted almost 1,000 entries daily, from the multi-state region. ➢ SEPTEMBER 5 (LABOR DAY WEEKEND) (tentative date) SHERIDAN COUNTY AIRPORT FLY-IN - A gathering of airplanes, pilots, and the general public for a fun-filled day at the Sheridan County Airport. A fly-in by pilots and aircraft from throughout the region, vintage aircraft on display, free rides for the kids, food and other aviation-related activities. ➢ SEPTEMBER 6-7 (LABOR DAY WEEKEND) DON KING DAYS - 27th anniversary - ‘Old West’ rodeo events, featuring match bronc riding, steer roping, and end-of-season polo cups. The Big Horn Equestrian Center provides open space & no fence setting in the majestic mountain foothills south of Sheridan. The family-oriented celebration honors renowned saddle maker King, from 11 am-5 pm daily. ➢ DECEMBER 4-6 TRAIL END STATE HISTORIC SITE HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE - Sheridan's popular historic museum (Kendrick Mansion), located at 400 Clarendon Ave., comes alive with the sights, sounds and scents of Christmas in the early 1900s - all rolled into one three-day event.
