1. Thoracic

2. Blood enters the Right Atrium from the Superior and Inferior Vena Cava carry deoxygenated blood. The blood then moves down to the Right Ventricle. Then is pushed up to the Pulmonary Artery from the Right Ventricle going to the lungs to be reoxygenated. The oxygenated blood from the lungs is then returned to the Left atrium by the pulmonary veins. The blood them moves down to the Left Ventricle. Then is pushed up to the Aorta to the rest of the body.

3. AV-Three flap closure-Tricuspid (3)and Bicuspid (2 flaps) (mitral)

Semilunar-Two flap closure (crescent shaped0-Pulmonic and Aortic

4. Tricuspid-Between the right atrium and right ventricle

Bicuspid (mitral)-Between the left atrium and left ventricle

Pulmonic-from the right ventricle to the pulmonary artery

Aortic-from the left ventricle to the aorta

5. 70-75

6. Partition dividing the atriums (upper chambers)

7. Partition dividing the ventricles (lower chambers)

8. Chordae tendineae

9. Electrical charge starts in SA node located in the upper right atrium. This electrical impulse is pass on to the AV node located on the floor of the right atrium. Then the electrical impulse is passed along the center of the heart through the Bundle of His. The Bundle of His splits into the right and left bundle. These come up each side of the heart. The electrical impulse is passed to bundle branch offs called Purkinje fibers.

10. The pressure on the arteries as the left ventricle of the heart contracts pushing out blood.

11. Systole (top number) is the heart contracting pushing out blood

Diastole (bottom number) is the heart relaxed filling up with blood

12. Arteries on the outside of the heart that supply the heart muscle with blood for oxygenation

13. Myocardial Infarction-death of an area of heart muscle

14. Deficiency of blood supply to the myocardium

15. Premature Ventricular Contraction- Ventricle contracts before the top chamber (atrium)

16. Arteriosclerotic Heart Disease-Hardening of the arteries of the heart

17. Irregularity or loss of rhythm of the heartbeat

18. Endocardium: inside lining of the heart

Myocardium: Heart muscle

Pericardium: Sac around the heart

19. Thoracocentesis: surgical puncture of the chest

Cardiotoxic: Poison of the heart

Bradycardia: Slow heartbeat/pulse

Cardiomyoliposis: Condition of fat in the heart muscle

Sphygmoid: Resembling a pulse

Tachycardia: Fast heartbeat/pulse

Cardioversion: Delivery of a direct current shock to the heart

Cardiomyopathy: Disease of the heart muscle

Angiocardiography: Process of recording (x-ray) of the heart and vessels

Cardiomegaly: Enlargement of the heart
