Dutch Art History includes the study of some of the great Dutch Masters, such as Rembrandt and Van Gogh. The course will include tours to various museums in Amsterdam, the Hague or Arnhem to view the original works.

Method of instruction: lectures, assignments, excursions, reader

Examination: The students will be required to write a paper and sit an examination at the end of the course. This always includes the assessment of one or more paintings of the masters discussed. Therefore the visiting of museums is a crucial component of the course and students are provided with a museum card to facilitate this integral aspect. Visits to the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and local Bonnefantemuseum are obligatory.
