Candidates are neither required to send any certificates/documents in support of their claim in the online application nor printout of their Application Form (Final Printout) to KEA. However the candidates, in their own interest, must satisfy themselves about their eligibility for the Test / admission to relevant courses. In the event of any ineligibility being detected by the Government / KEA / University / Apex Body at any stage, their candidature will be cancelled and they shall be liable for legal action.

If any candidate is found with possession of mobile phones or any other electronic gadgets' at the examination hall, shall be liable for penal action.

Candidates must follow the instructions strictly as given in the Information Bulletin and on KEA Website Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified. 5. Candidates must retain the following documents with them as reference for future correspondence.

Online Application. 6. (a) Candidate must ensure that mobile numbers, e-mail address entered in the

online application form are his/her own as in case of urgency KEA may send information / communications by SMS or mail on given mobile number and mailing ID only. (b) The Candidate / parents shall be held responsible for non-receipt of latest information due to wrong mobile number or mailing address filled in the On Line Application Form. 7. Candidates must preserve the Admit Card till the admission in College or Institution. 8. For the latest updates, candidates must remain in touch with the KEA Website till the completion of final round of counselling. 9. Candidates / parents are advised to visit KEA Website at least twice in a day for the latest news / updates and also check their mobile / e-mail as in case of urgency KEA may send the information / communications. 10. KEA will reserve the right to withdraw any such admission made at any point of time which is not fulfilling the eligibility criteria / regulations fixed by the Competent Authority from time to time.

WHAT IS NEW THIS YEAR? The Government in its Order No. ?A??P? 304 ??J 2017 ??AU????g??, ???AP? 14-09-2018, has

enhanced the annual income limit from `6.00 Lakhs to `8.0' Lakhs per annum for claiming reservation benefit. The candidate and his / her father's - mother's who's Gross Annual Income is below Rs.8.00 Lakhs are eligible to claim benefit of reservation under 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B categories. Only candidates who have the following credentials shall be eligible for admission to B.Arch. Course, Qualified through the recognized aptitude test in Architecture (NATA or equivalent) in 2019; Have gone through any of the following curriculum with marks as prescribed below: Secured 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level examination;

5% of the seats in each college and in each course will be reserved as Supernumerary Quota (SNQ) in all Engineering Colleges. This quota is over and above the seat matrix issued by the Government. The tuition fee prescribed by the Government in that particular college will be waived off. The candidate has to pay the other fees only. This Supernumerary quota is not available for Architecture Course. All candidates including General Merit are eligible for allotment of seats under Supernumerary quota whose annual income of the family from all the sources is less than Rs.6.00 Lakhs.

Verification of documents will be done in all the Districts and also at Doddaballapur of Bangalore Rural

District helpline centres after declaration of results / publication of merit list.

1. INTRODUCTION 1.1 The Karnataka Common Entrance Test 2019 is being conducted for the purpose of determining

the eligibility / merit, for admission of Karnataka candidates and the ward/s of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants to the First year or First semester of full time courses for Government share of seats in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Farm Science courses i.e, Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons) Sericulture, B.Sc (Hons) Horticulture, B.Sc (Hons) Forestry, B.Tech. Bio Technology, B.Sc. (Hons) Community Science, B.Tech (Agri.Engg), B.Tech (Food Technology), B.Tech (Dairy Tech), B.F.Sc (Fisheries), B.Tech (Food Science &Tech)., B.Sc. (Hons) Agri. Marketing & Co-Op, B. Pharma and Pharma-D course, in Government / University / Private Aided / Private Un-Aided Professional Educational Institutions in the State of Karnataka for the academic year 2019-20.

1.2 The candidates who wish to seek admission to Medical or Dental or AYUSH [Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani and Homoeopathy] courses must compulsorily qualify in the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) exam conducted by the CBSE Board, New Delhi. The candidates who qualify in the NEET ? 2019 exam will only get the eligibility for admission to Medical or Dental or AYUSH courses through KEA for Government share of seats.

1.3 For admission to Architecture course candidate should compulsorily appear for NATA conducted by the Council of Architecture or for JEE Paper-2 examination. Visit nata.in and nata.nic.in.

1.4 Admission to Government seats shall be made in accordance with the Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Government Seats in Professional Educational Institutions Rules, 2006 (in short CET-2006 Admission Rules) as amended from time to time and therefore the details and instructions contained in this Information Booklet are subject to the said Rules and Government orders. In case of any discrepancy, the Rules shall prevail.

1.5 As per the seat matrix issued by the Government, the seat allotment to the above mentioned courses will be done ONLINE by obtaining OPTIONS from the eligible candidates in the order of merit / rank obtained in 2019 CET / NEET / NATA as applicable, and based on the options given by the candidates.

1.6 Verification of documents will be done in all the Districts and also at Doddaballapur helpline centres after declaration of results / publication of merit list. Only upon verification of documents and issue of verification slip, candidate will be allowed to enter the options. Candidates can enter any number of options of their choice on their own arrangement. The candidate also has a provision to take a print out in each round. Every candidate shall be given high security user ID and Secret Key which the candidate then has to login and change it to password as per his / her choice.

1.7 Candidates are advised to verify and confirm that they are fulfilling any one of the Eligibility Clauses before applying for admission to Government seats in Professional Colleges in the state of Karnataka for the year 2019. For any reason the fee paid by the candidates will not be refunded.

1.8 The SC / ST/Category-I / 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B and other eligibility criteria is applicable to Karnataka

candidates who are eligible to claim eligibility for Government seats under clauses (a), (b), (f), (h),

(j), (k) (l) and (o) and the same is not applicable to eligibility clauses (c), (d), (e), (g), (i), (m) and

(n) to claim Government Seats and Government quota seats as per proviso of rule 9 (2) of CET-2006

Admission Rules.

1.9 Reservation of seats in certain categories such as Rural, Kannada etc and in Special Categories such as NCC, Sports etc is applicable only to Karnataka candidates who are eligible for Government seats and Government Quota seats.

1.10The information furnished by the candidate in the CET-2019 online application form with

regard to Caste / Category and Annual Income remains the same for the purpose of

assignment of ranks / selection or allotment of a seat and no change will be entertained in

future for any reason.

UGCET-2019 TIME TABLE - MODE OF CONDUCTING THE TEST

In order to obtain admission to any of the professional courses through KEA, a candidate must

appear for the Common Entrance Test as per their choice of courses, which will be conducted by the

Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore (Herein after referred to as KEA). The Common

Entrance Test-2019 will be conducted at 54 places, spread over Karnataka. Candidates who have

passed or are appearing for Qualifying Examination within Karnataka should write 'CET-2019' in a

test centre assigned by the KEA within the district in which the candidate has studied 2nd PUC or

12th standard.

4. KANNADA LANGUAGE TEST ? ONLY IN BANGALORE

KANNADA LANGUAGE TEST: The candidates claiming eligibility for Government seats under Horanadu & Gadinadu Kannadiga clauses and whose mother tongue is Kannada, Tulu or Kodava, will have to undergo a Kannada language test, to establish their ability to speak, read and write Kannada. The Kannada Language test will be conducted by KEA as per the above schedule only in Bangalore Centres; therefore such candidates will have to appear for the 'Common Entrance Test - 2019' in a test centre located at BANGALORE Only. The relevant photocopy of the original documents of the parents in support of their claim such as marks cards, study certificates, etc., along with the CET admission ticket should be produced on the day of Kannada Language Test.

The minimum passing marks for all Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates shall be 12 out of 50 marks in Kannada Language Examination conducted by KEA in order to be considered for assignment of ranks and to become eligible for allotment of seats in CET-2019. (The Kannada Language Test paper will be of 4th Standard Level)

However, the Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates (including clause `n') who have studied TEN full

academic years in Kannada Medium from 1st standard to 10th standard in places outside the state of

Karnataka need not appear for Kannada Language Test conducted by KEA.

# Minimum of 50% marks in Practical Examination is required to claim seat under Agriculturist Quota. Further, Agriculturist Quota is applicable only for Under Graduate courses detailed in 3 and 4 below. Practical Examination will be conducted at Bangalore, Hassan, Mandya, Raichur, Mysore, Munirabad (Koppal District), Arabhavai (Gokak Tq) Tamaka (Kolar District), Mangalore, Bidar, Bagalkot, Dharwad, Vijayapura, Hiriyur (Chitradurga) and Shimoga by concerned Agricultural / Veterinary Unviersities. Practical Test Fees: Rs.500/- for General and OBC (Rs.250/- for SC, ST and Category -1), this fee amount shall be paid at the respective Practical Test Centre on the day of verification of documents in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Comptroller of the respective University. In the case of Agriculturist Quota, the merit list will be prepared based on 25% marks each, secured in concerned combinations in II year PUC (PCMB) & CET and 50% marks secured in the Practical Test. In case of B.V.Sc & AH merit will be prepared based on 50% of Marks secured in CET (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and 50% of marks scored in the practical test.

ASSIGNMENT OF EXAMINATION CENTERS

The examination center for writing `CET 2019' in respect of all the candidates will be assigned by the KEA Computers on random basis. The candidates who have passed or are appearing for Q. E. within Karnataka should write the `CET 2019' in a place within the district in which they have studied 2nd PUC or 12th standard. If the `CET 2019' examination centers are located in more than one place in a district, the candidate can choose any one of the places.

For example: If the candidate has studied his / her 2nd PUC / 12th standard in `Mysore or any place in the Mysore district', then he / she has to write CET only in `MYSORE'. If he / she has studied in `Bellary Dist', then he / she can write CET either in `HOSPET' or in `BELLARY'.

The Horanadu & Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates claiming eligibility under clauses `c' and `d' of Item ? 6 of Chapter ? I respectively, will have to undergo a Kannada language test, which will be held on 25-04-2019 from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm simultaneously for both Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates in Bangalore. Therefore, the Horanadu & Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates will have to appear for the CET?2019 in an examination centre located at BANGALORE only.

6. NATA / JEE PAPER-2 FOR ADMISSION TO ARCHITECTURE

For admission to Architecture course candidate should compulsorily qualify in NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture or JEE Paper-2 examination. (Visit nata.in for more details.)

7. ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY AS PER RULE 3 OF CET-2006 ADMISSION RULES ? WHO CAN APPLY?

(i) No candidate shall be eligible for admission to Government Seats unless he is a citizen of India.

(ii) The candidates who have passed the qualifying examination other than the universities listed in the notification at VTU Website are NOT eligible and candidates who have passed from Karnataka State Open University are also NOT eligible.

(iii) A candidate who is appearing in the qualifying examination, i.e., 2nd PUC / 12th Standard in 2019 whose result is awaited, may apply and appear for Common Entrance Test 2019 but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to any of the course specified in 1 above, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required pass percentage of marks.

(iv) The educational qualifications / eligibility criteria prescribed by the Competent Authority in regulations / guidelines issued from time to time will be applicable in deciding the eligibility.

(v) Eligibility / admissions / allotments made to and by the colleges shall be subject to approval by MCI / DCI / AICTE / COA / CCIM / Government / concerned University / Apex Bodies / etc.

NOTE:

Candidates who do not pass in all the subjects in the qualifying examination and candidates who do not possess the academic eligibility detailed above for various Professional Courses, will not be eligible to be considered for allotment of seats in the respective courses.

A candidate who passes in all the subjects in the qualifying examination and later withdraws one or more subject for reappearing in the qualifying examination for improving his performance will also not be considered for allotment of seats in the regular round and will be treated as a supplementary candidate.

The SC / ST/Category-I / OBC eligibility criteria is applicable to candidates who are claiming eligibility

for Government seats under clauses (a), (b), (f), (h), (j), (k) (l) and (o) and the same is not applicable to

clauses (c), (d), (e), (g), (i), (m) and (n) of Item - 6 i.e., Eligibility Clauses to claim Government Seats as

per proviso of rule 9 (2) of CET-2006 Admission Rules. Not only a candidate who has passed the qualifying examination with requisite marks but also a

candidate who is appearing for the Q.E. and expecting the results is eligible to apply for the Common Entrance Test ? 2019. Students appearing for Karnataka 2nd PUC Annual 2019 need not submit their Q. E. marks card to the KEA, as it will be obtained directly from the Department of PUE. However, all other students who have passed 12th standard examination such as CBSE, CISCE, 10+2, from other boards (including J & K) before 2019 and who are appearing for 2019 annual exam must COMPULSORILY send a photocopy of their 12th standard marks card by mentioning their CET Number to KEA. Repeater students of Karnataka 2nd PU also should submit their photocopy of the marks card on or before 10-05-2019. Otherwise, the results of such candidates will be withheld for want of Q. E. Marks. Intermediary ranks / Spot ranks will be assigned in respect of with-held candidates only after submission of photocopy of the Q. E. marks card.
