By February 1 of each year, every school in California is required by state law to publish a School Accountability Report Card (SARC). The SARC contains information about the condition and performance of each California public school. Under the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) all local educational agencies (LEAs) are required to prepare a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), which describes how they intend to meet annual school-specific goals for all pupils, with specific activities to address state and local priorities. Additionally, data reported in an LCAP is to be consistent with data reported in the SARC.

For more information about SARC requirements, see the California Department of Education (CDE) SARC Web page at .

For more information about the LCFF or LCAP, see the CDE LCFF Web page at .

For additional information about the school, parents and community members should contact the school principal or the district office.

DataQuest

DataQuest is an online data tool located on the CDE DataQuest Web page at that contains additional information about this school and comparisons of the school to the district and the county. Specifically, DataQuest is a dynamic system that provides reports for accountability (e.g., test data, enrollment, high school graduates, dropouts, course enrollments, staffing, and data regarding English learners.

Internet Access

Internet access is available at public libraries and other locations that are publicly accessible (e.g., the California State Library). Access to the Internet at libraries and public locations is generally provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Other use restrictions may include the hours of operation, the length of time that a workstation may be used (depending on availability), the types of software programs available on a workstation, and the ability to print documents.

School Description and Mission Statement (School Year 2018-2019)

Greetings,

This marks the third consecutive year of improved performance on state testing for Charles Mack Elementary School students. When combined with the annual increases in the numbers of primary students reaching grade level proficiency targets, it is clear that our efforts to educate the whole child through equitable practices, exemplary instruction, and a partnership with the Charles Mack community are working.

Charles Mack's teachers have implemented an efficacious intervention block that compliments their core instruction. In addition, they have again engaged in rigorous training and professional development in order to better meet the data defined needs of their students. These exercises in building instructional capacity have resulted in tremendous support for an emerging student body of confident, high character children who eagerly respond to, and embrace the expectations of our teacher and student driven culture of education.

Parent participation has become a mainstay at Charles Mack. Our parent university events provides parents with instruction, modeling, and independent practice on classroom aligned support strategies. In addition, the expansion of our family-teacher run activities to include the 1st Annual Pancake Breakfast and the 1st Annual Readathon have further strengthened the existing parent-teacher bond and added to our growing list of activities that promote family and togetherness. Our English Learner Action Committee, School Site Council, and Family Teacher Organization have grown in numbers and stature as they support efforts to ensure students are successful learners.

After school, our Mustang Academy continues to provide Charles Mack students with access to a menu of athletic, academic, and musical enrichment opportunities.

It is through this lens and on all of these actions that we continue to pursue our vision for a school that is not only supported by a foundation of equitable practices, but also one where all students promote from Charles Mack with essential foundational academic, social, and emotional tools to access future college and career goals.

"From Mack, to Jackman, to Valley, to College"

Sincerely, Omar Field-Ridley, Principal
