This is your once-a-year opportunity to enroll in or make updates to benefits to meet the needs of you and your family. How do I enroll or make changes? Beginning Oct. 30, visit the HR portal at Caregiver.. Find the link to the 2020 benefits open enrollment page on the home page. Then click the Enroll in, review or update benefits button to enroll – just do it by Nov. 15.What is ALEX?? ALEX? is your virtual benefits counselor. This tool can help you decide which plans are best for you and your family. Access ALEX from the home page of the HR portal at Caregiver..What if I miss the deadline for open enrollment?If you don’t take action by Nov. 15, your current benefits plan elections will continue for 2020. There is one exception – you must re-enroll in flexible spending accounts (FSAs) each year to continue participating. Do I have to use a work computer for open enrollment?No, the HR portal is also accessible from your smartphone, tablet or home computer.What can I do during open enrollment?Benefits open enrollment is your annual opportunity to review your benefits elections to make sure they are meeting your needs. Open enrollment is a great opportunity to:Review, enroll in or change your benefitsVerify or change your covered dependents (you cannot add or change coverage for your dependents outside of open enrollment unless there is a qualifying event)Elect your 2020 health care or dependent care FSAElect or change your 2020 HSA contribution if you enroll in the HSA medical planUse tools to compare medical plans, estimate the tax savings associated with an HSA or FSA, and estimate life insurance needsView or update your life insurance, HSA and/or retirement beneficiariesDo you have help available if I need assistance paying my medical premiums?Caregivers may receive medical coverage with no premiums or reduced premiums through the Medical Plan Assistance Program (MPAP). Eligibility is based on household income and family size. Caregivers can apply anytime on the HR portal. For assistance to start with the first paycheck in 2020, applications must be submitted by Nov. 15. Caregivers must re-apply for the program every year to continue receiving assistance.During open enrollment, we are also asking you to update your veteran and disability self-identification status. Providence complies with applicable federal civil rights laws and does not discriminate, exclude people or treat them differently because of race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, veteran’s status, or sexual orientation. Information is confidential and not visible to your core leader, nor is it monitored by human resources. Translation services are available.Choose Well health incentiveWhat is Choose Well?Choose Well is our caregiver well-being program that helps caregivers focus on improving our physical, emotional and spiritual health. You receive incentives for participating in Choose Well.When is the deadline to earn my full 2020 health incentive with Choose Well?The deadline is Nov. 15, 2019. To earn the full health incentive, caregivers enrolled in a medical plan who elect to participate in Choose Well must earn 40,000 points to reach Level 4 in the program. A spouse/adult benefits recipient (ABR) enrolled in the medical plan needs to earn 20,000 points. Children do not need to participate.If you or your spouse/ABR earn points but do not reach level 4, you may receive a portion of the full annual incentive. How do I earn points?To get started, visit the Well-being tab on the HR portal at Caregiver.. Create an account in Virgin Pulse.A spouse/ABR can enroll by visiting and creating an account on Virgin Pulse. Entering their name and date of birth connects them to your health incentive. Follow these steps to help them earn their health incentive by Nov. 15.Some big-point earning opportunities are still available, including visiting your provider, taking the online health assessment, receiving (or attesting to decline) your annual flu immunization, joining Volunteers in Partnership, and participating in the Choose Well On-Demand Learning Series. How much will my 2020 Choose Well health incentive be?HRA and HSA medical plan members can earn up to $700 if enrolled in caregiver-only coverage, or up to $1,400 if you enroll dependents. If you enroll in an HMO or EPO medical plan (where available), you can earn a premium credit of up to $400 for caregiver-only coverage or up to $800 if your enrolled spouse or adult benefits recipient also participates.When will my health incentive be deposited?If you enroll in the HRA or HSA medical plan and earn your 2020 health incentive, the health incentive will be deposited as a lump sum into your HRA or HSA in January. If you enroll in an HMO or EPO medical plan (where available), the health incentive is a pre-tax medical plan premium reduction starting with your first paycheck in January.Can I still use my Choose Well points after Nov. 15? When can I start earning points for next year? The points that you earned during this program year will reset to zero at midnight on Nov. 15. Starting Nov. 16, you can begin earning points for the next program year, to start earning the 2021 health incentive. Points will be available again for tracking your activity, daily habits and reading cards. The large annual bonus point activities, such as visiting your provider and completing your annual health assessment, will be available again toward the middle of January 2020. Until then, use the program to help you stay on track over the holidays.Where can I get answers about Choose Well?Call the Benefits Service Center at 888-615-6481.
