Sunrise in Scottsville Photo Contest

Sunrise in Scottsville Photo Contest

Guidelines adapted from CACVB 2011 “Capture Charlottesville” photo contest

The contest is sponsored by: the Town of Scottsville, Scottsville Chamber of Commerce, Scottsville Center for Arts and Nature, Charlottesville Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the James River Arts Council.

The Town of Scottsville and greater Scottsville area are some of the prettiest places in Central Virginia. From the sublimity of the James River, to the beauty of nearby farmlands, woodlands, historic homes, sprawling meadows, and the dynamic colors of the seasons, the Scottsville area is simply beautiful. This spring and early summer, we’re asking you to go out and capture the amazing scenery of Sunrise in Scottsville. The goal of the contest it to capture images that convey the simple beauty of Scottsville at Daybreak. (From many majestic views of the sunrise, riverfarers embarking on a morning trip on the James, a couple enjoying a morning walk, wild animals enjoying the first rays of light, etc.)

Photographers of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to enter our 2014 “Sunrise in Scottsville” photo contest. At stake are cash and gift prizes, and a chance to have your photographs included in the Town of Scottsville’s publications and co-sponsoring organizations’ promotional materials.
