“I Have a Dream, Too!”

You will write an “I Have a Dream, Too!” speech that models Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. You may pick one or multiple issues to address in your speech. You will start your speech out however you’d like (with guidelines below), and then you will continue your speech with the starters below.

You must have the following in your speech:

Part 1:

2 metaphors and/or personification

2 similes

1 hyperbole

3 uses of symbolism (cup of bitterness = hatred; quicksands of racial injustice; desolate valley of segregation; storms of persecution; winds of police brutality)

Part 2:

Use imagery!
