LOOSE ME; I’M TRYING TO FIGHT FOR YOU

JUDGES 15: 9-16

INTRO

There are certain situations that arise in our lives that tie our hands and render us helpless to defend ourselves and fight our own battles. We are spiritual beings that live in a temporal world with temporal rules, guidelines, and regulations. These rules and regulations sometimes put us in sticky situations and we make decisions for survival that tie our hands when we try to advance ourselves into something better. Divorce, criminal record, bad driving record, bad credit, burned bridges; these are all temporary situations but they have an everlasting effect on the rest of our lives.

Situations happen that hurt us, just as it’s shown here in the text, the men of Judah have come down to bind Samson and bring him out to the Philistines because they were persecuting them and they were arrayed in battle against them just to get to Samson. Often times the enemy will come against those around you because he’s really trying to get to you.

NEW DAY

A lot of us have had our hands tied by each other by words and deeds but GOD is about to untie your hands from the bondage of the situations that you are in. He is about to empower you to conquer the same affairs and obstacles that had your hands tied. God is about to untie the sting of that thing that has your hands tied.

Every time you try to reach out for something better in your life the enemy reminds you that your hands are tied from something that you did way back when. But God is about to do something miraculous and marvelous in your life that will be unexplainable to you and those around you.

You can’t live out your purpose living in your past, but you have to leave it behind and press…Phil 3:13-14. Even though negative things happen to you they work together for your good if you love God and are called according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28). There would be no triumph if there were no trials. Negative situations produce positive results if you are called and chosen to Gods purpose. Even though the Philistines were oppressing the people of Judah God was going to use it to produce promising results for them.

IT’S A FIGHT

We as Christians sometimes back away from the fight of Christianity. Sometimes we become afraid of the struggle. It’s not that we are afraid of the enemy, but we are afraid of the bumps and bruises that come from warfare. We are in a fight and we have to come to the realization that opposition is coming our way. Satan will not fight you if you are on his team because a kingdom divided against itself can’t stand (Mark 3:24). But when you decide to give your life to Christ he comes after you with both guns blazing. He will fight you with all that he has in his arsenal. This is an old battle, it’s not even about you so the battle isn’t yours (daddies devil) (Eph 6:12).

Samson realized that they were in a fight and he was actively engaging them in hand to hand combat. While the men of Judah were willing to accept defeat and live as slaves even though they were freed men. When you realize that you are in a fight if there is any scrap game in you, then you will roll up your sleeves and hit the enemy back when he hits you. When the enemy fights you he is not fighting you as a person he is fighting your purpose. The men of Judah couldn’t understand why Samson was fighting back; he said he was doing to them what they did to him. I can take someone fighting me; but when you fight my purpose we are going to have problems.

DON’T FAINT

This is a hand to hand combat and sometimes when you are going toe to toe in a battle you win some and you lose some. The enemy knows that he can’t stand a direct blow from you so he constantly bobs and weaves and keeps you off balance because he’s trying to wear you down. He tries to wear you down because he realizes that if you ever got your feet under you, you would knock him out cold and he wouldn’t make the ten count.

He realizes that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world, he also realizes that you don’t know it even though you quote it. He is trying to wear you out because he can’t knock you out. That’s why the Word of God says to be not weary in well doing because in due season we will reap if we don’t faint (2 Thess3:13).

WHOSE REPORT?

The men of Judah came to Samson trying to get him to accept a situation that God hasn’t accepted. They said why you don’t understand that they are over us. They called it normal that the Philistines were over them but Samson didn’t see it that way. People will do the same today in trying to get us to accept our situations and accept not having what we know that we should have.

The reality that they see is not the reality that you see. They see your past as hindering your future and you see your past as a launching pad because you realize that your latter shall be greater than your former. Never let anyone talk you down to their reality for your life. If you believe that you can do all things thru Christ, don’t let anyone tell you any different. Samson is bound by those around him; the enemy will get at you by your associations.

THE TRANSIT NATURE OF GOD

People can tie you up with the way that they think. They can tie you up with the words that they say. When people are not accustomed to the transit nature of God they will tie you up to keep you from walking in the realm of change in God (small thinking). Anything that restricts your movement in any way is bondage. Anything that keeps you from doing what God has called you to do is bondage. Samson is trying to operate in the spirit realm but he is surrounded by people infected with fear. You can’t successfully operate in the spirit realm when you surround yourself by fear and doubt.

BREAKTHROUGH

His break though came when they shouted against him. The shout aroused the Spirit of God to war! The Holy Spirit started fighting for him and opened his eyes to see what he was blind to before.
