Course Objective: To develop the computational and theoretical foundation for linear algebra.

Be sure to check this page frequently for announcements, including homework assignments.

Homework: There will be frequent homework assignments, which will be announced in class and posted on the course webpage (with the above address). However, homework will NOT be collected, instead we will have quizzes every few days, with the problems coming directly from the homework. Homework will count for 35% of your grade.

Exams: The remaining 65% of your grade in this class will come from two in-class exams (20% each) and a final exam (25%). Dates for the in-class exams will be announced. The final will be during finals week, exact date and time TBA.

Letter Grades: A (90%), B (80%), C (70%), D (60%). Also: +/- grades, given at my discretion.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: You can only receive a grade of Incomplete if you have at least a C average on work completed and are unable to finish the course due to circumstances beyond your control. The Dean’s Office must approve all Incompletes. See for information on add/drop deadlines.
