Getting Help in MySelf Service using the User Productivity Kit (UPK) online tutorials

The City has an online training tool called UPK (User Productivity Kit) which provides online tutorials and documentation (JOBAIDs). Several tutorials are available to help users understand how to complete their tasks in MySelf Service. This document explains how to access UPK and how to use UPK.

I. Accessing the Online Tutorials (UPK)

A. Pop-up Blocker In order to access the UPK application, ensure your Pop-up Blocker is turned off. Go to Tools > Pop-up Blocker. A.

B. Getting to the Lessons Once logged in to MySelf Service, you can access the online tutorials through Help on the menu in the upper right-hand corner or through the link on the My Assistance Tab.

Click on the Online tutorials (UPK) link.

Click on the plus sign to expand the menu, and then click on the desired topic.

You can use the search field to search for a specific topic. Enter the topic you want help with in the search field and hit enter or click on the magnifying glass.

3. You can share a lesson with a coworker by clicking Share and sending the link to the lesson. 4. You can get more UPK instructions, but clicking the question mark. Some lessons have jump-in points that will take you to a specific section of a topic. To see if "jump-in" points are available, click on the small arrow next to the Playback Mode. The available jump-in points will display.

Besides general information, UPK bubbles hold user options. If you click on Actions at the top of the bubble, you will get a submenu. The submenu differs depending on the mode you are in. There are also links for actions at the bottom of the bubbles.

Display the current preference settings for the Player. If this link does not appear, your administrator has preset all of the preferences and has prevented them from being changed.

Display the Player help system.

Close the topic in current playback mode and return to the topic launch point.
