GRANTS

1. – grantor Verizon ($145,000). Joint venture between the EdVenture, the College of Human Resources & Education, and The College of Engineering. This grant was designed to attract secondary school student attention to energy related jobs in West Virginia, and to encourage them to stay in the state for their careers.

• Co-wrote section of RFP pertaining to professional school counseling (co-authors Dr. Jennifer R. Adams & Dr. Victoria Stone).

• Collaborated with faculty and staff in two colleges of West Virginia University as well as a nonprofit organization, EdVenture, to develop RFP for the development of a career services social networking site for 8 - 14 grade students across WV.

• Proposal indicates that Dr. Stone and I will oversee the “Ask the Counselor” section of the webpage, as well as actively participate in the training of school counselors across the state of West Virginia so that they may begin to make use of the resource.

• Over the course of the grant, I traveled to various locations throughout the state of West Virginia to increase teacher and counselor interest in the program.

• I participated in the pilot program for the grant, as it was implemented.

2. Faculty Development Grant – grantor HR&E Research, Service & Professional Development Committee ($750). Grant to attend and participate in the American Counseling Association (ACA) Conference & Exposition 2008 in Honolulu, HI.

3. Faculty Development Grant – West Virginia University (funds requested $600) January, 2008. Grant to attend and participate in the ACA Conference & Exposition.

4. Faculty Development Grant – grantor HR&E Research, Service & Professional Development Committee ($750). Grant to attend and participate in the American Counseling Association (ACA) Conference & Exposition 2007 in Detroit, MI.
