Description Family Promise offers services for homeless individuals and families, providing shelter and meals in congregational facilities and supportive services in collaboration with local social service agencies. The Salvation Army provides services for disadvantaged families and individuals. Services include temporary shelter for emergency and disaster situations, food and clothes assistance. Women's Resources provides services for victims of domestic violence including counseling, emergency shelter, 24-hour hotline, and legal advocacy. Pocono Area Transitional Housing provides a transitional housing program for families facing housing crisis or homelessness. Human Resources Center, Inc. provides services for individuals with physical disabilities and mental illness including community residential facilities, life sharing homes, supported independent living, vocational services, and day treatment programs. Residential programs include community homes and transitional living. The housing authority program provides rental properties to low income families of Monroe County.
