New BusinessNortheastern RepresentativeHeather Frydendall from Winnemucca has been appointed. Grants – NV EnergyAccepts grant applications throughout the year; the first cycle is focused on education. Application due 2/15/2020. W. K. Kellogg Foundation grant ends this summer and this provides opportunity to continue 4 Bachelor degree students until graduation. OELD funding for Bachelors is up in the air. Email Change PasswordsWill take place every 6 months. Strong Start Parent AmbassadorsAmanda Haboush-Deloye would like to include this topic as a future agenda item. $12,500 from NAEYC awarded to continue public policy work; support parents travel to DC and Children’s Week. This year it was used for Parent Ambassador program (10 parents) currently 16 in program; 8 in Southern Nevada, 8 in Northern NevadaOrientation in South is completeOrientation in North is on Wednesday 1/29/2020. Potential future use for committee work. We offer child activities for parents who bring children so that is not a barrier. Potential future need. We would need volunteers. 1x a month. February and March are the largest needs. Refer volunteers Part C MeetingJenna Weglarz-Ward explained that the meeting is looking at childcare options for parents of children with special needs and will be sending a survey to families.
