NAHC Hardship Grant2016 Annual ConferenceLas Vegas, NevadaSubmission Deadline: June 15, 2016Grant Application SummaryThe Board of Directors of National Association of Housing Cooperatives (NAHC) approved the Hardship Grant to send a member of a cooperative that is experiencing financial hardship to the NAHC Annual Conference.The objective of the grant is to make it financially possible for a struggling cooperative to attend the conference and gain the education and training from the programming to help improve their cooperative’s financial status. NAHC is offering a grant in the total amount of $2,500 at most. This will cover the cost of the member’s conference registration, travel and hotel expenses, including include airfare, transportation to and from the airport, and a per diem for food and beverage expenses.The grant is meant to equip a member with the tools to strengthen the financial health of their cooperative. The member will be asked to make a presentation to the Board and to the membership reporting on what they learned at the conference once the conference is completed.Please email your application and materials to info@nahc.coop.NAHC Hardship Scholarship/Grant ProposalName of Grant: NAHC Annual Conference Hardship Grant Amount of Grant: $2,500 for conference registration for one NAHC member from a cooperative experiencing financial hardship, plus hotel accommodations and travel costs and a food and beverage per diem ($61/day for Las Vegas, NV set by the US government).Purpose: For NAHC to be a resource for a member of a cooperative experiencing financial hardship so that the attendee can attend the Annual Conferences to benefit from the training. Eligible Applicants: Any current NAHC Member from a cooperative with financial hardship (the member must be current on their membership dues). Eligibility Requirements: Application Submittal, financial statement, etc. Application Criteria: Cooperative name, address, contact info, member type, history, reason for current financial hardship, letter of support from member association (if applicable). Selection Committee: Determined by Member Services Committee Compliance: Must provide proof of cooperative’s financial hardship. Must attend minimum of three (3) classes each day during the conference. Must provide information to their cooperative membership and article for NAHC’s newsletter spotlighting the scholarship/grant benefits after conference. Conditions: Scholarship/Grant awarded to one member per eligible cooperative annually. Awardees are not eligible for future scholarships for 5 years. Term of Requested Grant: NAHC funds this grant program for first two (2) years while Membership Services develops long term sponsor.
