This e-service allows individuals and Attorneys-at-Law practising in Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) to electronically conduct Name Search, Name Reservation, Registration of a Business and Incorporation of a Company. These services are offered by the Registrar General's Department of the Ministry of The Attorney General and Legal Affairs (MAGLA) which, via The Companies Act 1995 Chapter 81:01 and The Registration of Business Names Act Chapter 82:85, is empowered to register all businesses in T&T and all external companies.

Registration of Businesses and Incorporation of Companies.

Name Search and Name Reservation

Step 1: Application I. To access the SEW system, an Applicant must first obtain a ttconnect identification number and sign up

on TTBizLink for the relevant e-service he/she wishes to use such as the Company Registration e-service. The applicant can then also apply for a TTBizLink ID. II. The applicant then completes and submits the online application via the TTBizLink website ? .tt. III. Upon submission, the Applicant will receive a Confirmation Notice detailing the fee that must be paid. This payment can be made either in cash at The Registrar General's Department or using a subscription account, if the Applicant has one. If a subscription account is being used, the deduction will be an automatic one once the relevant information for the deduction has been entered on the electronic application form in the relevant field.

Step 2: Processing I. The electronic database will search for similar names, similar sounding names or partial online

matches.

Step 3: Approval I. If the proposed name meets the criteria set out by The Registrar General's Department, it will be

approved. II. The Applicant will be informed via e-mail whether the name has been approved or is undesirable. III. Once approved, the name will be reserved for a period of forty-five (45) days. If registration is

not completed by the forty-fifth day, the name reservation will expire and the process will have to be undertaken again. IV. Once payment is made, the name is registered with the Registrar General's Department and lodged in its database.

NAME RESERVATION

The Applicant submits online application via .tt.

The Applicant pays the relevant fee either at the Cashier or via a subscription account if he/she has one. If a subscription account is being used, the deduction will be an automatic one.

Companies Registry evaluates the application to determine whether the proposed name meets the stipulated criteria.

The applicant is informed of the decision via e-mail.

Companies Registry decides whether the name will be approved or deemed undesirable.

Registration of a Business/Incorporation of a Company

Following approval for Name Reservation via the TTBizLink website (.tt), the Applicant then completes and submits the relevant Registration of Business or Incorporation of Company online form. Step 2: Processing I. The submitted application will go through the various levels of approval at The Registrar General's Department to ensure compliance with established criteria. Step 3: Approval I. The Applicant will be informed via e-mail whether the application has been approved or rejected. II. Once approved, the Applicant will receive an e-mail detailing the fee that must be paid and other relevant guidelines needed for obtaining the printed Certificate. Please follow these guidelines carefully.

The applicable payment can be made either in cash at The Registrar General's Department or using a subscription account, if the Applicant has one. If a subscription account is being used, the deduction will be an automatic one once the relevant information for the deduction has been entered on the electronic application form in the relevant field.

III. The printed Certificate has to be collected from the Registrar General's Department. It can be collected at once if payment is made via a subscription account or at the time of payment if using cash.

REGISTRATION OF A BUSINESS/INCORPORATION OF A COMPANY

The Applicant submits online application via .tt.

Companies Registry evaluates the application to determine whether

it meets stipulated criteria.

Companies Registry decides whether the application will

be approved or rejected.

The Applicant presents all documents to the Documents Veri?cation O?cer at Companies Registry.

Once approved, the Applicant prints and signs all relevant documents as indicated

in the e-mail noti?cation.

The applicant is informed of the decision via e-mail.

Once all documents are in order, the Applicant is directed to make payment for the application. The Applicant pays the relevant fee either at the Cashier or via a subscription account if he/she has one. If a subscription account is being used, the deduction will be an automatic one.

Companies Registry prints the relevant certi?cate.

The Applicant collects the relevant certi?cate from

Companies Registry.
