Who stole the Crown Jewels?

Wide Game - Activity Plan

The Story!

Whilst the Queen was visiting a local Unit in Wakefield, her crown jewels were stolen!

You need to work as a patrol to complete the 7 challenges in order to receive clues.

You must have attempted each challenge before guessing whodunit, and will only receive a clue once a challenge as been completed.

Station 1: Create a 'Story Board' for 'Whodunnit??'

Create a storyboard, poster or diagram showing how the crown jewels were stolen and why.

Materials: Pens, paper, instructions

Station 2: Knotboard

Each person in the patrol needs to create a knotboard swap

Materials: Coloured card, string, needles, thread, pens, plan card, glue, knotting instructions.

3: Sculpture of the Queen

Create a sculpture of the Queen using materials provided, and from a 'scavenger' type list. Leader in charge will decide, based on patrols ability, whether they need all 10 items included or less.

Materials: 'Scavenger List', obscure items on list to be hidden on site.

Station 4: Princess Jigsaws

Complete the princess Jigsaw in a paralympic style team relay.

Materials: Disney jigsaws, blindfold, instructions for leader/girls.

Station 5: Campfire Biscuits

Create your own campfire using sweet sugary items

Materials: Digestive biscuits, gummy bears, mini marshmallows chocolate fingers, icing sugar, strawberry laces, plates/napkins, bowls, spoons.

Station 6: Patrol Cooking

In your patrol build a fire (using the knots you learnt earlier!), a tripod to hang a pot from and create the following meal for yourself and a leader:

Spaghetti in Tomato sauce with cheese & Garlic Bread.

Baked banana & Chocolate

Leaders minimum one per patrol

Materials to bring:

Matches, firelighters/newspaper, gadget wood, box per patrol to put in:

– Pasta, sauce Jar cheese

– Garlic Bread (pre made)

– Banana and chocolate

– Pot/Dixie, spoon & foil.

– Washing up bowl/cloth.

Washing up liquid

Any specialist food as required.

Filler Activities:

Jubilee Quiz

Complete the Quiz, answers are either red, white, blue, diamond, jubilee or Queen.

Leader: Not required (to be completed in down time)

Materials: Quiz, pens.

Storyboard Telling

Share how the crown jewels were stolen, where and when etc.

Materials: Not required

Who did it?

We used Mr Bean (as it fits for the number of activities) after each group completes it they get a letter.
