In Britain many place names have Roman endings- ''caster' or 'chester' are just two examples, as in Doncaster and Winchester. A 'castra' was a Roman fort. In an atlas, find a map of Great Britain that shows towns and cities- a political map, similar to the one you can see here. Write down as many towns or cities with these Roman endings as you can fit in the boxes below. Two such places with Roman names, not too far from your school, are included below to start you off!
