NTMA Offers Graduate Opportunities as Portfolio Support Officers within NAMA Asset Recovery The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) provides a range of asset and liability management services to Government. These services include borrowing on behalf of the Government and management of the National Debt, the State Claims Agency, the New Economy and Recovery Authority, the National Pensions Reserve Fund, the National Development Finance Agency and the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA).About NAMANAMA was established in 2009 as a key part of Ireland’s response to its banking and property crisis. NAMA acquired commercial and residential property loans with a nominal value of over €74bn from five financial institutions. In purchasing these loans, NAMA issues senior and subordinated debt of close to €32bn and is tasked with managing the assets to obtain the best financial return for the State. In just over three years, NAMA has generated over €12.9bn in cash flows, has approved development funding of over €1.8bn for its assets, is profitable and, critically is on target to repay its debt on behalf of the Irish state.Graduate OpportunitiesNTMA is now offering an exciting opportunity for talented graduates to join the NAMA Asset Recovery team.Asset Recovery is the principal interface with debtors/receivers and is responsible for over 99% of the debtor connections, both directly managed by NAMA and indirectly managed through the Participating Institutions.This role will provide the successful candidates with the knowledge, skills and expertise that a career in asset and credit management demands. As a Portfolio Support Officer in NAMA, you will have the opportunity to work on interesting and significant transactions and will learn through a combination of mentoring, project work and regular feedback. As a graduate recruit, you will also be supported in pursuing further professional studies relevant to your role.The Role The Portfolio Support Officer role is offered initially on a fixed term contract basis for a period of two years. The successful candidate(s) will work as part of a team, providing a wide range of support/operation functions to the Asset Recovery teams as well as working closely with other divisions to ensure a first-class service that achieves outstanding results in managing the NAMA assets. DutiesThe role will include, but will not be limited to, the following administrative duties:Processing initial credit applicationsMaintenance of property/collateral recordsMaintenance of case files and team sites on Document Management SystemsMaintenance of tracking/action logs for individual cases and team portfolioPreparation of ad hoc reports and submissionsProvision of data/information to support Quality Assurance inspections as well as Internal and External Audit Reviews.Skills and ExperienceTo be considered, applicants must hold a 2.1 degree or higher, ideally in one of the following areas: business, commerce, finance, accountancy, economics or IT.In addition to a strong academic background, applicants should be able to demonstrate clear evidence of:An ability to contribute effectively as part of a team An ability to work effectively with minimum supervision and to use own initiativePlanning and organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise work and to manage conflicts to achieve objectives within required timescalesThe ability to work effectively under pressure, taking responsibility for the delivery of accurate and high-quality outputAn analytical approach to problem solving and proven decision-making abilityExcellent communication, report writing and interpersonal skillsCandidates must also possess a sound working knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
