Sisters Network® , Inc., is the first national African-American breast cancer survivors’ organization, established in 1994 by National President and Founder Karen Jackson.

Currently, Sisters Network® , Inc., has thirty-five (35) affiliate chapters nationwide.

Mission: Sisters Network® , Inc., is committed to increasing local and national attention to the devastating impact that breast cancer has in the African-American community.

In 1997, the National President developed and implemented a "How to Guide for New Chapters". The guide is a model to inspire, direct and maintain the continuity of programs for all chapters.

National headquarters serves as a resource and referral base for survivors, clinical trials, and private / government agencies. In addition, teleconferences are held to update chapters with the latest information and share new ideas.

Sisters established the first national African-American breast cancer survivors newsletter distributed to survivors, medical facilities, government agencies, organizations and churches nationwide.

All chapters are Survivor run and receive volunteer assistance from community leaders and associate members. The services provided by Sisters are:

The "GIFT FOR LIFE BLOCK WALK" and "PINK RIBBON AWARENESS CAMPAIGN"

are two of the national educational community outreach projects that have received national recognition. In addition, through the affiliate chapter projects, as well as the print, radio, and television media coverage, Sisters outreach efforts has reached over a million families.

Members serve on various local, regional, state, national boards and review committees.
