CDC scientific areas for the SBIR/STTR Program:

• The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) serves as the national focus for developing and applying disease prevention and control, environmental health, and health promotion and health education activities designed to improve the health of the people of the United States.

• Eleven National Centers, Institutes, and Coordinating Offices participate in the CDC SBIR Program:

– National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP)

– National Center for HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP)

– National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)

– National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC)

– National Center for Preparedness, Detection and Control of Infectious Diseases (NCPDCID)

– National Center for Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD)

– National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD)

– National Center for Zoonotic, Vector-Borne, and Enteric Diseases (NCZVED)

– Coordinating Office for Terrorism Preparedness and Emergency Response (COTPER)

– National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH)

– Coordinating Center for Global Health (COGH)

• Projects that support the Mission’s and priorities of the participating units will be considered

• Approximately $6.5mm will be available for FY 2009
