Lynn K. Shipman

Lynn K. Shipman serves in the position of Vice President and Assistant General Counsel in the legal department of JPMorgan Chase & Co. supporting the bank’s institutional pension, endowment and custody lines of business. She previously served in a similar position at Bank One, prior to its merger with JPMorgan Chase and prior to that, at PNC Bank. In that capacity, she drafts and negotiates trust, custody and related documents and advises on legal issues relating to retirement plans. Ms. Shipman was a member of the American Bankers Association Trust Counsel Committee from 1997-2004 and an appointed delegate to the 2002 National Summit on Retirement Savings. She previously served as a member of Tax Committee of the Investment Company Institute (2000-2005), the Pension Committee of the Investment Company Institute (1994-1999) and the Board of Advisors of the American Bankers Association Employee Benefit Trust School/Graduate Employee Benefit Trust School (1998-2000).

Ms. Shipman has lectured on retirement plan, custody, IRA and tax issues for the Fiduciary Investment & Risk Management Association, the American Bankers Association, the New Jersey Bankers Association, the Employee Benefits Committee of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association, the Employee Benefits Committee of the Columbus Bar Association, the Tax Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Federal Tax Conference of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the 29th Annual Wharton School Tax Conference. She has also taught at the American Bankers Association National Employee Benefits Trust School/Graduate Trust School.

Ms. Shipman received her B.A. in Liberal Arts from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and her LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law.
