National Engineers Week TipsACEC Indiana volunteers shall serve as the point person for contacting teachers. Please contact your teacher by Feb. 10 and introduce yourself and cover all items on the “Teacher Checklist”.Prepare for your school visit by considering what you wish to share with the students:Consider who your audience is—age appropriate discussionsShare your story about your pathway to engineering.How the work you do makes a difference in the community.Showcase engineering as a career that allows for curiosity, creativity, teamwork, opportunities and helping others.Check out this presentation on how to Effectively Talk to Kids about Engineering Consider posing some “Ice Breaker/ Fun Fact” questions at the beginning of your presentation.
