Each was awarded a $2,500 scholarship from the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program (NMSP) to be applied toward their college education. The program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. High school students enter the NMSP by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). Approximately 1.6 million students take the PSTA/NMSQT. Of those, the NMSP selects 16,000 as semifinalists from across the nation. Those students must complete further submissions to be elevated to finalists. Chloe and Aidan were selected as finalists in early February, and were recently designated as scholarship winners.
