National Park Project

This is an introduction our greatest land features in North America. These are areas most of you have never heard of or seen. These areas are important to preserve natural resources and a delicate environment.

Your project is to plan a 9 day road trip to a National Park of your choice. Your job is to learn the key topics about your place, why it needs to be protected. This can be done as a book or a brochure.

National Park, preserve, marine sanctuary, wildlife refuge, or forest.

Your required elements are to create a flyer, document, or a brochure with:

---Your cover should have name of park and a pic that sells the trip

o Who would you like to road-trip with

o Route of map to and from home. Tip-take a diff path on the return trip

o How many miles will you drive, how many hours on the road, how much gas money will you need

o Where will you camp—campground name/section. Site # if possible

o List one meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner while camping

o Seasonal Climate ( Temperature, Precipitation) Graph or chart is OK

o Iconic animals and plants that live there

o Things to see or do the most

o Year this park was designated

o Pictures ( Clear )

o List all the types of Biomes within the borders

o Geography – What does the land look like

o Average # of visitors per year and park fees to enter, cost to camp

o Map of park

o Any interesting facts

o Endangerments to park

o Description of a job/career that you would like at the park

o Why does this area need to be protected? Why is it so special?

o List of web sites and sources used (at least 4 sources listed)

o Qr code to a video available on-line about the park

You need to have both a balance of text and pictures (color when possible).

You will be graded on content, neatness, creativity, and actual knowledge of what you turned in.
