Discussion: Everyone going around explaining who they are and what organization they are with. To work on the year action plan. On sticky notes, write any ideas you have pertaining to "What are you going to do in 2019 to prevent youth substance use ** at your organization or community?"

Discussion: Getting teens/youth real world experiences from people in the field of work across different occupations based on substance abuse. Still looking for someone from military. We do also have someone from a substance use program. Tom Cox referenced someone that could be used for the military spot for this event. Evan to contact Davis Monthan AF base to connect him to her. No need for community volunteers for the event. If there is a need for help you could bring snacks. This event will be held on January 29, 2019.

Discussion: Maggie introduced Kristi Chester from Tucson Local Media to help launch a media campaign for MPA.

Ideas for Media Campaign

o Would be culturally diverse o Would be in the Marana News and Desert Times (Newspaper Articles) or o Digitally (with a layered affect) to reach out to families better o Involving the youth

To be able to brainstorm with youth for messages to use o Maybe make a subcommittee for this topic to be able to produce ideas for this campaign. o Officer Danielson came up with "Chiefs Corner" for the Marana Newspaper which would include

any new information that they have for the community/youth to be able to push out. Would include any upcoming events such as Teen Maze and Dispose-A-Med

o Maybe Partner with Twin Peaks Pizza and be able to put a small ad on the pizza box so that people that either pick up or get their pizza delivered will be able to see things about MPA.

o Chrome books that are issued by schools that could be used to push messages to the students. Could send it before break and after break

o Look into JTED programs that involve media creation or journalism. o Community involvement o Building up resiliency rather than just saying that "drugs and alcohol are bad"

Time allotted | 5 mins | Agenda topic Founders' Day | Presenter Maggie Myers Discussion: Founders' Day is March 30, 2019 from 10-2. MPA has been asked to do the kids craft area again. Officer Danielson to reach out to explorers to help with the event. Folks are in favor of participating.

Time allotted | 5 mins | Agenda topic Medical Marijuana Subcommittee | Presenter Maggie Myers Discussion: Need to get a hold of Nature Med other dispensary on Ina. Will send email out to people to meet again to be able to brainstorm ideas to prevent users of Medical marijuana to lock up their meds and dispose of them when they are done.

o Moved from Target to Frys o Hang banners up to put up on the side of the road to get people to come out to dispose meds. o Maybe include HS students to get involved o Distribute handouts of upcoming dates for events at Farmers Markets?
