2007 - 2008 Scholarships

The Undergraduate Mentoring in Environmental Biology (UMEB) program is a twelve month program for sophomores and juniors from underrepresented populations.

➢ The goal of UMEB is to recruit, train, and promote talented students for careers in environmental biology.

➢ UMEB scholars are provided $12,000 in scholarships and wages plus training in environmental research, advising, and mentoring.

➢ UMEB research experiences vary with individual student interests.

To apply for the UMEB program:

1. A letter of application.

2. Copies of all pertinent transcripts.

3. An essay (approximately 600-words) describing your interests in environmental biology.

4. Two letters of recommendation, at least one should be from a teacher or professor.

To be considered for the 2007 – 2008 UMEB program, please submit all application materials by May 1, 2007
