Billet Title: Force Surgeon, Navy Reserve Forces Command (COMNAVRESFOR)Location: Norfolk, VARank: CAPT / 06Tour:36 monthsJob Summary:This is a unique opportunity to impact the care and mission readiness for the 50,000 Selected Reserve sailors through policy guidance and implementation across the 123 Reserve Centers nationwide. Billet Description:-- Provides consultation/assistance to entire Reserve Force in all Medical Department matters.-- Issue guidance to enhance Individual Medical Readiness and Health Protection-- Review and provide counsel on mobilization screening and injury case management programs.-- Facilitate the appropriate access and use of electronic medical recordsCommand Relations: -- Ability to communicate effectively to a 2 Star Line Admiral on a daily basis.-- Coordinate closely with other 06 Department Heads and Regional CO’s-- External liaison for Reserve Component medical readiness and Force Health protection issues with U Fleet Forces, BUMED, CNPC, OJAG, MARFORRES, COMNAVAIRFORES, other DOD/VA medical facilities and civilian medical agencies.-- Additional duty responsibility to the Office of the Chief of Navy Reserve (3 Star Admiral) for medical policy matters, coordination, and reporting-- Responsible for staff of 1 HMCM, 2 HMCs, 1 HM1, and 1 civilian.Other: -- Time available to perform clinical work at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.-- Time available to travel for funded CME.-- TAD travel throughout the year for COMNAVRESFOR related events.APPLICATION:-- CV, BIO, last 2 fitreps needed for application.POC: ................
