1. Gates Millennium Scholars Program 2013

-funded by Bill and Melinda Gates with the intent to provide outstanding African-American, American Indian/Alaska Native,

Asian Pacific Islander, and Hispanic American students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in

any discipline.

-applicants must have a GPA of 3.3 on an unweighted 4.0 scale; must have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in

community service and other extracurricular activities

-must also meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria

Amount: full financial need met

Application must be submitted online by January 16, 2013

2. National Multiple Sclerosis Society Scholarship Program

-helps highly qualified students who have been diagnosed with MS, or who have a parent with MS, achieve their dreams of going

to college; applicants must plan to enroll in an undergraduate course of student at an accredited two or four year college program

-consideration will be given to academic record, work history, school and community activities, career objectives, financial need,

and a personal statement describing the impact MS has had on your life

-visit scholarship for additional information and the application

Amount: ranges from $1,000 up to $3,000

Application must be submitted by January 15, 2013

3. Aubrey Lee Brooks Scholarship

-available to seniors from Alamance and 13 additional counties who are planning to attend NCSU, UNC-CH, UNC-G

-selection is based on academic excellence, financial need, community service/work experience, and leadership

-applicants must apply for college admission to one of the three identified colleges, apply for financial aid by completing the FAFSA

online at , and complete the Brooks Scholarship application at Brooks

-visit brooks for additional information and the application

Amount: approximately one-half of the cost of an undergraduate education, plus a computer stipend, travel abroad, internships

Application materials must be submitted by January 31, 2013
