Board for Certification

The NCSF Board for Certification (NCSFBC) is the governing body for the national certification program. The Board for Certification represents all stakeholders of the NCSF credentialing program including the general public, exercising official authority to regulate all aspects of the certification process including committees for research, development, and administration. In addition, the NCSFBC sets standards, guidelines, and protocols that define the scope of professional practices and disciplinary actions for NCSF certified personal trainers.

College Credit Approval

The education and training programs offered by the National Council on Strength and Fitness have been reviewed by the American Council on Education in Washington, D.C. The successful review and approval of the organization's educational curriculum allows the NCSF to offer college credit to students participating in, and successfully completing, educational coursework. College credits may be transferred to over 1,000 participating colleges/universities throughout the United States and credits may be applied toward state certificate renewal, and professional license or certification renewal requirements.

Taking an NCSF Course for Continuing Education?

Certified personal trainers and licensed or certified allied health professionals can take an NCSF education and training course for pre-approved continuing education credits. The Advanced Concepts of Personal Training textbook contains all theoretical concepts, guidelines, and relevant information necessary to pass the NCSF-CPT Exam. Divided into nine (9) units mirroring the certification exam, the textbook progresses from an introduction of Anatomy and Biomechanics through Nutrition, Weight Management, Exercise Prescription, and Training Instruction, and culminates with Exercise Programming for Special Populations.
