The Family business awards is a platform created for recognising the diversity of family firms across the country. The inaugural edition of these prestigious awards will honour and celebrate multi-generational, family-owned businesses in our region for overall excellence, thought leadership, innovation, global vision and philanthropy.

Entries are open till 15th November, 2018. Incomplete or late submissions will automatically be disqualified.

Family Business

A family-owned business may be defined as any business (a corporation, partnership, proprietorship or any form of commercial organization):

• in which two or more family members (related by blood or marriage) are involved (could be single family member in greater than first generation businesses)

• the majority of ownership (or where the family is the single largest shareholder) or control (through management or representation on the Board) lies within a family

• decision making is influenced by multiple generations of a family and/or where there is an intention of the founder to pass the business ownership to their descendants
