NO-FAIL NEUTRAL PAINT

COLORS

When I first started in my business, selecting paint colors was one of the most stressful part of my work. It's so hard to see how a color will look on your wall from a teeny, tiny swatch. And it really doesn't get any better when you paint it up in a small area on your wall, right?! Well, fear not, after years in business, I have become super comfortable specifying paint colors and I have gathered my tried and true favorites here for you. Sa-weet!

Can I get a high five!!

LOVE THE PAINT COLORS... BUT WHAT FINISH SHOULD I USE?

Flat:

A flat finish is very unforgiving and fragile. It stains easily and cannot be scrubbed. While many contractors recommend flat for closets and hallways, I avoid it and limit its use only to ceilings.

Matte:

Matte finish is a true unicorn and I use it for all walls. It doesn't have the gloss or sheen of eggshell but it is wipeable like eggshell. This makes it a practical choice for every area of your home. I even use Benjamin Moore's Aura Bath and Spa Matte Finish on bathroom walls.

Eggshell:

I rarely use eggshell finish because the gloss on it can show every wall imperfection. If you don't have a paint brand near you that carries a Matte Finish, then eggshell would be my second choice for all areas that I noted under the Matte Finish category.

Satin:

This is the ideal finish for trim, cabinetry and shiplap.

Semi-gloss: This is an ideal finish for trim and wainscot.

My favorite place to get samples from is Samplize. They are repositionable decals that have two coats of the actual manufacturer's paint on them. They carry Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, Farrow & Ball and PPG paint colors. Even better, they are eco-friendly and a simple, less expensive way to test the colors without having to wait in line at the paint store.
