I am Pastor Greg Ralston, the founding Pastor of Living Hope.I came to faith in Jesus at the age of 14 and committed my life to serving Him. At the age of 19 I experienced a call to ministry in which I can only describe it as hearing the voice of God. I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with an emphasis in criminology and juvenile delinquency. A few years later I completed a Masters in Divinity degree and became an Associate Pastor working with teenagers and their families. I love teens! In 1993 I came to Colorado Springs to plant a church. It would prove to be the most challenging and yet rewarding experience of my life. When I came here, God gave me a vision for a church that would help people to either start or start over in their faith in Jesus. Because my favorite Bible verse says, “If any man is in Christ he is a new creation. The old has gone, behold the new has come,” (2 Cor 5:17) it is no surprise that God gave me this vision. In 2001 God gave us a gift of the land the church building now sets on. This was one of the most awe inspiring experiences of my life. In this one gift, God assured me that He was still in the vision of Living Hope. When we built a building and moved in 2 years later, I had a sense that Living Hope was still doing what God wanted. I continue to be proudof the church God has made us to be.When I answered the call to be a Pastor, I suspected that my life would be mostly boring or mundane. Nothing could be further from the truth. Over the years I have come to see following Christ as an adventure. I never know what is coming next.I have learned that I do not cherish things in this life as much as I cherish experiences. Every day is a treasure of new experiences. I love the insights I gain as I quietly talk with people over a cup of coffee and I love the awesome beauty I am surrounded by as I hike in the mountains. I thrive on the sense of accomplishment that comes from creating a work of art or building something out of wood, and I really enjoy the special experiences that make life fun and exciting. Through the generosity of friends and family it has been my joy to fly in a glider, drive a Ferrari, scuba dive in Cozumel and travel to both Europe and Asia. God has promised us life. I believe we should live the life God has given us to its fullest. My hope is that every person can experience the adventure of knowing Christ. I want everyone to live in the freedom Jesus offers. My desire is that every person would experience the forgiveness of sins that Jesus offers, and live whatever life God gives them fully and completely. ................
