014287500603948516192500Family Readiness InformationThe 6th Marine Corps District covers the seven Southeastern States and Puerto Rico, and is tasked with recruiting future Marines to protect and serve our nation. The Unit Personal & Family Readiness Program (UPFRP) provides information and support to the Marine recruiters, support personnel, and their families from the time they are selected for independent duty to the time their tour ends. This program supports the 6th District Commander's commitment to family support and "taking care of our own".To realize this commitment, the District Readiness Coordinator (DRC) in addition to each Recruiting Station’s (RS) Uniform Readiness Coordinator (URC) work to support District Marines and family members. The DRC works with the District, while the URC works closely with the RS Marines and families providing an assist with information, to welcome and support new and families’ in their time of transition to the next chapter of their lives. The Unit Personal & Family Readiness ProgramCommunication:??Provides timely and relevant communication to all the Marines and families attached to 6th?MCD.? Additionally, we act as a conduit for communication back to the Command from the Marines and their families on various issues and concerns. Information & Referral: - Perhaps the largest portion of the work done is making sure that Marines and families have the information about various resources available to them, especially given the unique nature of this independent duty.? The hard work and support of Family Readiness Volunteers assist us in making sure we are providing the best level of information and resources.Healthcare (Medical/Dental): TRICARE issues become more acute when Marines and family members are separated from a Base or Post military treatment facility and the support they are accustomed to. The DRC/URC attempts to channel your concerns and needs to the right action agency, to resolve those challenges, whether dealing with claims, enrollment, to finding a PCM.Relocation & Transition: for the many issues that arise during your move/relocation or change in careers, the DRC/URC provides support and information. This boost extends not only to the Marine, also to the spouse and family.Personal/Family Development: ?Within the District we have trainers that can provide workshops on various topics helping Marines and families succeed and thrive while on independent duty.? Current workshops include Family Readiness Volunteer Training, Marriage Enrichment, Personality, Stress Management, and many more, there are workshops for everyone: Marines, spouses, and children.Volunteer Program:??A solid Personal & Family Readiness Program benefits from a dedicated group of volunteers that help share their knowledge and skills with those around them.? The DRC/URC work hard to encourage and engage the volunteer program to ensure that while on an independent duty, no Marine or family feels as if they are going it alone.427672519431000Legal & Financial: Information and assistance concerning legal and financial issues are available, including tax assistance through your local military installation or from MCRD/ERR’s legal center.
