Dear Registered Nurse:
Welcome to the Kean University School of Nursing. The Kean University School of Nursing is fully accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. In Fall 2012, Kean University received full accreditation for the next ten years from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education..
All nursing courses in the Kean University RN-BSN Offsite Program are available at the North Branch campus. The nursing courses (lectures) are predominantly held on Fridays with non-nursing courses offered through RVCC and Kean University at various times during the academic year and summer sessions. Since the inception of the program, nurses have found the program to be flexible, affordable, and manageable in balancing their personal, family and career responsibilities.
The RN-BSN program can be completed in approximately twenty months, although there is the opportunity to fast track or proceed at a slower pace. In addition, bridge courses to the MSN at Kean University, as well as a BSN program for second degree students and select graduate courses in the MSN program are offered at Kean University’s offsite RVCC location. A dual-admission option is available for RVCC nursing students whereby upon successful completion of the first year of nursing courses, students can enroll in select BSN courses.
I look forward to meeting you. Please contact me at either Raritan Valley Community College, Somerset Hall 1st Floor Room S147, (908) 526-1200, ext 8917 or at
Kean University, School of Nursing, Townsend 116G, (908) 737-3394.
My email address is: kneville@kean.edu.
Sincerely,

Please call the Office of Computer and Information Services (OCIS) at 908-737-6000 or visit CSS-113 on Kean University’s campus to reset your password.
1. Once you have entered your username and password, you will have access to your courses that use BlackboardCE8.
2. Select the appropriate course and section from the front page of Blackboard after you have signed in.
3. From the main page for each course, you will see a variety of icon modules such as: PowerPoint Presentations, Study Guides, Assignments, and the syllabus.
4. In order to view the presentations, they MUST be downloaded to your computer. Click on the chapter link of your choice. A window should appear on the screen that gives you an option of saving the file to your computer’s hard drive. *Please note your computer’s default for saving files (usually the ‘Downloads’ or ‘My Documents’ folder). Rename the file with the Chapter # and save. (If the second window does not appear, it is because the default on your computer is set to download files without asking for permission.)
5. To open the PowerPoint Lectures for online classes, the download is the same, but your professor may have included an audio voiceover for each slide. If there is audio, you should see a speaker icon in the upper right corner of each slide. If no speaker icon is present, there is no audio for that slide.
6. If you cannot hear the audio, SAVE the file to your computer, as explained in Step #4 or you may need to download the appropriate program for audio playback (e.g. Windows Media Player or QuickTime).
