Player Claims the One Jersey Cash 5 $242,401 Winning Ticket from Last Night's Draw

TRENTON (June 13, 2017) ? There was no desire for Scott Rhoads, a self-employed furniture mover, to take his time claiming the Jersey Cash 5 jackpot winning ticket from last night's drawing. He has been playing the same set of five numbers, daily, for the past two years, waiting for this moment to happen. After the drawing, Scott checked the winning numbers on his phone using the Lottery App and immediately recognized his numbers as the winners.

His was the sole ticket that matched all five numbers drawn winning the $242,401 Jersey Cash 5 jackpot from the Monday, June 12 drawing. The winning numbers were: 10, 12, 28, 36 and 42 and the XTRA number was: 05. The lucky retailer that sold the winning ticket is 7-Eleven #11015, 667 Mantoloking Rd., Brick in Ocean County.

Rhoades said that the number sets originated from a quick pick ticket. He and his wife decided to continue playing those numbers, which apparently was a great decision. The next decision will be how to enjoy the winnings. They will need a bit more time for that.

Executive Director Carole Hedinger said, "We are thrilled for our latest Jersey Cash 5 player and for the retailer that sold the ticket, 7-Eleven #11015. The store will receive a bonus check for $2,000 for selling the winning ticket. Overnight, they have become one more `lucky location'."

Executive Director Carole Hedinger announced that there were 352,147 tickets purchased for the drawing. By adding XTRA, for an additional $1.00 per play, winners are able to multiply their non-jackpot prizes by the XTRA number drawn. For correctly matching four of the five numbers drawn, 58 ticketholders won $534 each and 7 others won $2,670 each with the addition of XTRA. Moreover, for correctly matching three of the five numbers drawn, 2,091 ticketholders won $15 each and 334 others won $75 each with the addition of XTRA. Lastly, 3,847 ticketholders each won $2 for correctly matching two of the five numbers drawn with the addition of XTRA on their purchase.
