President of the Association of Academic Dermatologic Surgeons. He is an educational innovator, and has
written and edited his share of papers and books.

Participants will learn about new developments regarding patient safety issues in the use of dermal fillers including immune
mediated infectious complications (biofilms), avoiding vascular complications, and improved patient outcomes by risk reduction
utilizing sterile prep and drape, use of microcannulas, and understanding clinical anatomy relevant to these treatments.
Specifically, participants will be shown the latest clinical and laboratory studies that support these evidence based methods and
techniques, as well as being made aware of the lack of level I and II evidence in the use of microcannulas.
Participants will learn about the safety and effectiveness of the newest technology in non-ablative or minimally invasive devices
used for tightening skin and reducing, altering, or reshaping subcutaneous fat.
The participants will learn risk management methods to reduce the risk of medicolegal action by implementing improved
informed consent and patient education techniques including electronic and web based multimedia.
