Newton’s Laws Comic

Newton’s Laws Comic!!!

Introduction: For the past several weeks we hove been talking about 3 Laws of Motion that are credited to Sir Isaac Newton. This project is designed to give you an opportunity to review these laws, while also allowing you to use your creative abilities.

Newton’s 1st Law of Motion (a.k.a. inertia)- Newton’s First Law of Motion states that objects at. rest will remain at rest unless an outside force acts on them. Also, objects in motion will remain in motion at a constant velocity unless an outside force acts on them.

Newton’s 2nd Law of Motion (force, mass, and acceleration)- Newton’s Second Law of Motion states That net force is directly proportional to acceleration (as force on an object is increased, its acceleration will increase) and that mass is inversely proportional to acceleration (as mass is increased for a given force, acceleration will decrease). This law can also be expressed as an equation: Force = Mass x acceleration or Acceleration Force,Mass.

Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion (action-reaction)- Newton’s Third Law of Motion states that whenever one object exerts a force on a second object, the second object exerts an equal and opposite force on the first object. In other words, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Objective: Your goal in this project is to create a funny comic that is not only amusing to the reader, but that also demonstrates at least one of Newton’s 3 Laws of Motion.

Requirements: You are required to draw a comic, either a one panel comic or a comic strip, that clearly demonstrates one of the three laws of motion. Your strip must contain both a drawing demonstrating the law, and word bubbles or a caption that compliments the drawing. Because black and white comics are boring, you must use color in your comic as well. Please be creative and neat with your work. This project is worth 25 points: 5 points for creativity and neatness

10 points for meeting all requirements

10 points for a clear and correct demonstration of one of Newton’s 3 Laws of Motion

You will have class time to work on the project, so it would be in your best interest to use this time wisely.
