WHO WE ARE

The National Clinical Training Center for Family Planning (NCTC) is one of five national training and technical assistance centers funded by the Office of Population Affairs. NCTC provides quality training nationwide for clinical family planning Nurse Practitioners, Certified Nurse Midwives, Physicians Assistants, Doctors of Medicine and Doctors of Osteopathy.

WHAT WE OFFER

NCTC holds "National Family Planning Clinical Symposiums" multiple times a year throughout the nation. These trainings provide an opportunity to participate in different areas of family planning training courses:

In addition to the training symposiums, webinars are offered on a variety of topics including Contraceptive Update, STD Update, and Women's Health Pharmacology just to name a few.

CTCFP PRECEPTOR TRAINING PROGRAM

This 18-hour training provides foundational knowledge and skills for current or future preceptors. The preceptor training course enhances participants' familiarity with national family planning priorities and Title X guidelines. The content is designed for new preceptors, those who precept with no formal training and those seeking a skills refresher. TRAINING PROGRAM

The Office of Population Affairs has provided funding to the National Clinical Training Center for Family Planning to arrange for intrauterine contraception trainings in different regions across the nation. Questions can be directed to the LARC training Manager, Kimberly Carlson, at carlsonkim@umkc.edu.

IUC Training

IUC training involves both didactic and hands-on skills-based portions on proper insertion and removal of Skyla?, Mirena? and Paragard?.

3 hour training

BWIOLLRINKGSH&OPCODING

This comprehensive 4 hour training will focus on encounter and procedure coding for clinicians, as well as a general overview of the revenue cycle. The content is designed for those new to coding and billing and those seeking a refresher. This course will also include strategies and examples to use in working with colleagues back at your clinic. This training is offered in collaboration with the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association. NEXPLANON? Training

The NEXPLANON? (etonogestral implant) training will provide hands-on training for insertion and removal procedures, as well as implant localization techniques. Only open to advanced practice clinicians with furnishing numbers or prescribing privileges in their state. This training is conducted by Merck.

OBJECTIVES

Define the responsibilities and skills required to be a successful trainer on encounter and procedure coding for clinicians Describe the concept of a revenue cycle and link this to the importance of accurate coding performed by clinicians Develop appropriate coding skills and related skills in documentation, through the use of a variety of reproductive health care coding case studies
