Captured at Culloden on 16 April 1746. Imprisoned at Inverness 19 April 1746. Plead guilty. The designation `bawman' may be the same as `bouman' or `booman', a tenant who received stock from his landlord and shared his profits with him. Nothing more is known of him. He may have died in the transports. List says he was imprisoned.

William Boyd, Earl of Kilmarnock, from Stirlingshire

Occupation: Landowner Prisoner no.: 1469 Prisoner at: Inverness, Tower of London

Aged 41 years. When only ten years old he went with his father to oppose Lord Mar in 1715. Succeeded to Earldom in 1717. Died 18 August 1746. After the battle of Prestonpans he joined the Prince and was made a Colonel. Surrendered at Culloden 16 April 1746 and imprisoned at Inverness on 19 April 1746. He made a mistake supposing a troop of English cavalry was FitzJames' Horse. His own account states as his companions were escaping he surrendered to Lord Mark Kerr's Dragoons and was saved from attack by the Dragoons by the intervention of Lord Ancrum. He was sent to the Tower of London along with Lords Cromartie and Balmerino. He was tried before the House of Lords on 28 July 1746 and pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to death and executed by beheading at Tower Hill, London on 18 August 1746. After being sentenced he appealed for mercy to George II and the Duke of Cumberland.

Aged 19 years, son of the Laird of Auchleishiel. `Carried arms as a Captain in the rebell service'. Captured 13 June 1746 (Prisoners of the `45) yet he is listed in the List of Prisoners at Inverness on 19 April 1746 having surrendered on Culloden Battlefield. Was shown as a prisoner in London. Was imprisoned in Perth on 8 August 1746, Edinburgh Canongate Prison. Was shown to be a prisoner in London. He was tried on 15 November 1746 acquitted on account of being 19 years of age. His servant, John Buchanan, deponed that he had several times deserted or tried to do so and that he was repeatedly forced back. Acquitted 15 November 1746 but by mistake transported on 21 February 1747. Listed as a prisoner aboard the `Gildart'. Transported on the `Gildart', Ships Master, Richard Homes. Departed from Liverpool on 24 February 1747 and arrived at Port North, Potomac, Maryland on 5 August 1747.
