These inspection procedures apply to all motorized moving equipment.

EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS AFFECTED:

Nissan Lift Truck #1

Daily Lift Truck Inspection Checklists

Operator’s Manuals (located in pockets on lift trucks)

Battery Operated Power Cart

Daily Power Cart Inspection Checklist

Operator’s Manual (located in Power Cart Checklist file in Control Room)

Aerial Work Platform

Aerial Work Platform Prestart Checklist

Operator’s Manual (located on the aerial work platform)

Tractor

Tractor Weekly Inspection Checklist

RESPONSIBILITY:

Designated mill worker trained and competent to perform the inspection.

DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:

A Circle Check Inspection shall be performed on motorized moving equipment according to the following schedule:

When completed, the operator shall sign the checklist and put it in the designated folder. Note: Lift Truck Inspection Checklists stay with the lift trucks for the duration of the day and are filed after the inspection for the following day is completed.

Any problems must be reported to a supervisor immediately.

If supervisor is not available, the defective equipment shall be tagged Out of Service and the keys shall be removed until the problem is resolved.

Before any piece of motorized equipment is put back into service following repairs or maintenance, the supervisor shall sign and date the Checklist to confirm that the equipment is safe for use.
