Monroe Township Middle School Parents/Guardians of Fall Athletes,Thank you to the parents, athletes and coaches for their patience as we ensure the safety of all students and staff in this ever-changing environment. Monroe Township Middle School will begin fall sports on Monday, September 21, 2020 and take an intramural approach for the fall season. Days and times that your child should attend practices are posted on the MTMS Athletics Website under “Practice Schedule”.Registration:Fall Sports Registration is required for athletes who wish to participate in the fall Season. Each athlete must have an up to date Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation, commonly referred to as a Sports Physical.? Once submitted it will be reviewed by a school nurse and must be approved by the district physician. All athletes are required to have an approved physical on file administered within 365 days of September 14, 2020 for all other Fall Sports.Student-athletes who have pre-existing medical conditions and/or are immunocompromised (e.g., diabetes, asthma, auto-immune disorders, etc.) shall provide clearance from a family physician before he/she will be permitted to participate in workouts.Student-athletes who presently have symptoms of?COVID-19, or who have tested positive shall provide clearance from a family physician before he/she will be permitted to participate in workouts.PracticesA practice schedule for the entire fall season will be posted on the MTMS Athletics Department website under “Practice Schedule”. A COVID-19 Questionnaire which is available on the MTMS Athletics Website home page must be completed every day prior to arriving for your scheduled practice. The questionnaire will be posted on the MTMS Athletics Website and must be completed online prior to arriving on campus. COVID-19 Daily Pre-screening Questions The questionnaire must be filled out on the same morning of practice and not the night before. Each questionnaire will be time stamped to ensure compliance.Drop Off/Driving ProtocolAll Fall Sports Athletes arriving for check in MUST enter the high school parking lot at the entrance on Schoolhouse Rd near the High School Auditorium.? Check-in will take place along the black fence to Thompson Park.??All cars must have a sign in the passenger side window with the students first and last name, and their sport.All athletes are encouraged to arrive at practice in their own vehicles. Multiple athletes arriving in one vehicle will not be allowed to practice if one of the athletes in the vehicle has symptoms or records a temperature of 100.4 prior to practice.? A doctor’s note will be required for all athletes in the vehicle to return to practice.?Check-inDaily COVID 19 questionnaires must be completed online prior to arriving.Remain in your car until you are cleared to practice.? Do not drop off your child. If your child is not cleared to participate you will need to take him/her home immediately.Temperature check-in (remain in the vehicle)You are required to wear your mask and have at least 32 oz. of water labeled with your child’s name for practice.Shirts must be worn by all student-athletes to participate in practice.Once cleared for practice you may exit the vehicle and report to your assigned practice area.?Parents/guardians will not be allowed to stay and view practice.??Pick up Protocol and Location:X-country – HS parking lot near weight room doors.Field Hockey – HS parking lot near weight room doors.Soccer – HS parking lot near weight room doors.Please remain in your vehicle while waiting to pick up athletes.?Reminders?Face Coveringsa)Student-athletes who are engaged in high-intensity aerobic activity, e.g., running, sprinting, etc., do not need to wear face coverings during the period of the aerobic activity. Once the aerobic activity is over, student-athletes shall wear face coverings.b)Student-athletes who are not engaged in high-intensity aerobic activity, e.g., sitting on the bench, waiting in line, etc., must wear face coverings. Coaches and district personnel must wear face coverings at all times.?Groupings/Social Distancinga)No more than ten (10) student-athletes will be grouped together.b)Social distancing of at least six (6) feet shall be maintained between student-athletes and staff at all times, including within the ten (10) student-athlete groupings. Each group will be distanced by twelve (12) to eighteen (18) feet.c)Athletes will not be allowed to switch groups.d)Athletes will have NO contact with each other, e.g., fist bumps, high-fives, huddles, etc.?Sports Equipmenta) Each student-athlete must bring at least 32 oz of water labeled with their child’s name on it.b) All sports equipment and touchpoints (e.g., benches, agility cones, ladders, clipboards, etc.) will be cleaned and disinfected after each workout session.?Locker Rooms/Restroomsa)Locker rooms will NOT be in use.b)Restrooms will have limited access and they will be cleaned and disinfected?Hygienea)Students and staff will use hand sanitizer after each workout.b)Hand sanitizer will be accessible at all times.c)Student-athletes must wear their own practice gear to practice and will return home in the same practice gear.d)There will be no spitting, chewing seeds or gum during practice. ................
