NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY SURVEY

Congratulations! Your academic achievement of having a cumulative grade point average of an 89.0% or higher makes you a candidate for acceptance into the CDMS chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). The NJHS is an organization that recognizes not only academic achievement, but also other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. The purpose of the NJHS is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, promote leadership, develop character and encourage citizenship. Please read the attached newsletter to find out what students accomplished during this school year and what being a member of the NJHS entails.

Acceptance into the NJHS is an honor reserved for the best all-around students at Central Dauphin Middle School. We examine not only your grades but your attendance and behavior records as well. Students who earned more than one warning card, ISS, OSS, detention, and / or bus suspension during the current school year will not be considered for the NJHS. If you feel that you meet these qualifications and those described below, please complete the attached application and return it to the Guidance Office NO LATER THAN May 4, 2015. All 7th graders seeking new membership are required to complete the form. If you do not wish to be considered please indicate that on the application. Students will be selected by the advisors for membership based on their strength in all of the areas highlighted above and described below. The applicants’ current school year core teachers will be asked for feedback regarding their academic and behavioral performances.
