How to uninstall the non-Vista Windows Driver

If you install the non-Vista windows Graphtec printer driver to you Vista Widows PC, please uninstall the driver by following procedure.

1) Disconnect the your cutting plotter from the computer.

2) Open the printer window by following procedure below.

[Start] --> [Control Panel] --> [Hardware & Sounds] --> [Printer]

3) Select the icon which you installed non-Vista windows driver.

If there is not a driver, jump to step (6).

4) Click the right button to open the menu below.

5) Select the "Delete" to delete the non-Vista windows driver icon.

6) Click the right button in the printer window to open the menu below.

7) Select the "Run as administrator" and then select the "Server Property" to open the menu below.

8) Select the Driver tab to open the menu above.

9) Select the non-Vista driver at the above menu, which you were installed.(No.1)

10) Click the Remove button to open the menu below. (No.2)

11) Select "Remove driver and driver package", and then click the OK button. (No.1)

12) Click the Delete button to remove the driver package. (No.2)

13) Click the Delete button to remove the driver package.

14) Click the OK button to delete the driver package.

15) Close the "Server Property".

16) Open the GRAPHTEC folder window by following procedure below.

[Start] --> [Computer] --> [Program Files] --> [GRAPHTEC]

17) Delete the GRAPHTEC folder from the Program Files.

If there is not a GRAPHTEC folder, skip this procedure.

18) Install the Vista Windows Driver (See How to Install the Vista Windows Driver).

How to Install the Vista Windows Driver

1) Prepare the Graphtec Vista printer driver on your computer. If you download the driver from the Graphtec web site, unzip zip file before installing the driver on the Disk Top.

2) Open the printer window by following procedure below.

[Start] --> [Control Panel] --> [Hardware & Sounds] --> [Printer]

3) Click the "Add a printer" from the menu bar to add the printer.

4) Click the "Add a local printer" from the menu below.

5) Select the "Use an existing port" from the menu below. (No.1)

6) Select the existing port from the menu above. (No.2)

If you are going to connect the printer to the USB port, select the "FILE:(Print to File)". Note: Do not select the USB port here.

If you are going to connect the printer to the RS-232C port, select the COM port.

7) Click the Next button after you are selected the port. (No.3)

8) Following menu appear. And then click the Have Disk button.

9) Click the Browse button.

10) Open the WIN2K_VISTA folder, which you unzipped onto the Disk Top.

11) Select the GP**.INF file from the menu below. And then click the Open button.

12) Click the OK button from the menu below.

13) Select the printer model, and then click the Next button from the menu below.

14) Click the Next button from the menu below.

15) Click the "Install this driver software anyway" from the menu below.

16) Click the Finish button from the menu below.

If you are going to connect to the USB port, jump to the step (17).

If you are going to connect to the RS-232C port, jump to the step (22).

17) Open the printer window by following procedure below.

[Start] --> [Control Panel] --> [Hardware & Sounds] --> [Printer]

18) Select the Graphtec printer, and then click the right button to open the menu above. Then delete the Graphtec printer this time.

If you have an error when you delete the Graphtec printer then restart the PC and perform the step (19).

19) Connect the Graphtec printer (Cutter) and the PC using the USB cable. And then turn on the power for the Graphtec printer (Cutter).

20) The "Installing device driver software" message appears in the lower right corner of the desktop. Do not click on this message - simply wait.

If this message do not appears, delete the USB print support from the device manager (See the How to Delete the USB Printing Support).

21) When the device driver installed the "Device driver installed successfully" message appears in the lower right corner of the desktop.

22) Restart the PC to complete installing the printer driver.

23) Completes the installation.

How to delete the USB Printing Support

Enter the PC from the administrator account to delete the USB print support.

1) Confirm that the Graphtec printer (Cutter) and the PC are connecting and the power is turned on for the Graphtec printer (Cutter).

2) Open the device manager window by following procedure below.

[Start] --> [Control Panel] --> [Hardware & Sounds] --> [Device Manager]

3) Select the USB Printing Support, and then click the right button to open the above menu.

4) Select the "Uninstall" to remove the USB Printing Support.

5) Click the OK button.

6) Close the device manager window.

7) Turn off the power for the Graphtec printer (Cutter), and then turn on the power again.

8) The "Installing device driver software" message appears in the lower right corner of the desktop. Do not click on this message - simply wait.

9) When the device driver installed the "Device driver installed successfully" message appears in the lower right corner of the desktop.

10) Restart the PC to complete installing the printer driver.
