Smart Kids, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for the children in our community, is happy to announce a record year in fund raising. Due to the generosity of our donors, we have been able to build new playgrounds and improve many of the older existing ones. We have also been able to provide various camp scholarships for many children who would not have otherwise had an opportunity to attend summer camp.
As you can see in the chart at the left, our spring fund raising campaign seems to be quite effective, but the summer months are a bit lean. We would be interested in any ideas that might help boost summer giving without reducing available funds throughout the rest of the year.
We are always in need of increasing funds, and the best way to accomplish this is through and increased number of donors. This year we plan to go beyond individual donors and develop a program for corporate donors. This will give our local businesses the opportunity to give back a little of what their community has given to them. If you are aware of any local businesses that may be interested in this program, please contact a member of the membership committee.
